A band that you can tolerate from a genre you typically can not stand?

I usually can not pure metal music or alternative metal. However there are three bands I can actually tolerate from this genre.

Metal: Black Tide

Alternative Metal: Powerman 5000, RED

Are there any bands out there that you can tolerate but you tend to dislike the genre they are from as a whole?

I wouldn't say a group in whole, but early rap I can stand, even though I hate everything that comes out of that god forsaken genre of music these days.

No. There's usually a reason I can't stand certain genres, so all heavy metal/rap/R 'n' B/hip hop/screamo/dance ect, I can't stand.

Rock: Radiohead (They grew on me :P, I am now a fan of OK Computer)

Techno/Electronica:Ulver (Electronic Era) and Kraftwerk. Its the majority of the bands/artists that make the genre suck.

Power Metal: Blind Guardian, Kamelot, and Dragonland

Drone: Sunn O)))

Death Metal: Lykathea Aflame and Nile

Gothic Metal: Draconian

uh the only genre of music i dont like is hip hop and rap and i cant think of any music i like from that genre. I listen to alot of punk rock, grunge, heavy metal, and alternative rock. i guess im a typical white kid that only likes rock haha

Hmm, Metal seems to be getting poked with the poo'ey stick here. There's no 1 band that stands out in a genre that i dislike, not any i can think of anyway.

Death Metal (pure, not melodic. I love melodic) - One Man Army & The Undead Quartet (snappy title, ain't it?)

Industrial - Static-X

Rap - WestSide Connection

I can't stand pop but I like Lady Gaga. And only some of her songs caues others sound like that one crappy singer Gwen Stefani or Christina Agulera

i like lots of stuff: Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Moby, VNV Nation, REM, Assemblage 23, Guns n Roses, Covenant, Tiesto, Phil collins, DAFT PUNK, Beatifull South, Paul van dyke massive attack (ultimate smacked music).

I generally despise all things metal, but I think Black Sabbath is tolerable if you ignore the ridiculous lyrics.

The Prodigy, I hate that type of music but they have some awesome songs, like this.

I REALLY hate myself for it, even though it's not a band, but Patrick Wolf, and I guess it would be Pop.

Cavallera? Wasn't he in Sepulture and now in Soulfly? They're not really Death Metal.

Metal - Meshuggah, old school Megadeth, Tool (some of my fave bands, ironically)

Electronic - The Prodigy, Crystal Method (Only a few songs by each)

Modern Pop Rock - Ween, Sanjana Shrestha

alt rock - foo fighters. one of my favorite bands actually, theyre the reason im into music now.

i can't stand country with the exception of Johnny Cash and Charlie Daniels. i cannot tolerate any rap artist. and i cannot tolerate any ska band.

the first two albums were 100% death metal, morbid visions and beastial devistation.. schizophrenia was thrash with death vocals, then beneath the remains was fully thrash.
