Aslong as spiderman is never killed off in the movies it's ok.A tv show im fine with him getting killed on that.

I wonder how long it will be when peter parker comes back to life. We all know Marvel cant keep him dead. Its when Superman died. He was dead for a lil bit and then was brought back to life. It will happen with Spider-man. He's too big of a character to remain dead forever.

What a horrendous idea

Does marvel really have to go out of their way to specify the race of spiderman? I mean, couldn't they just draw him as the ethnicity they choose and leave it at that. Are they trying to show that they are a diverse company? Just think of the reverse of this: "We have killed of the old spiderman who was black and hispanic and we have decided to replace him with a white guy" Is it really worth the mention other then the fact that peter parker is dead.

I think Bendis heard about Donald Glover's campaign to be the next Peter Parker and went " HEY! That's not such a bad idea!"

Don't even care, it's part of the Ultimate universe, which I don't read.

I don't see why people make such a big deal out of it.

I'd think blacks and hispanics would be more offended than white folks. Kinda like, "Well, we gotta take care of minorities, so lets just make Spiderman half and half. That should take care of all of 'em." Maybe they should have made him part asian as well?

I reject you're reality, and substitute my own.

Happy for them to do it in the Ultimate Series, but I'd have an issue if they'd done this is the standard line.

It's been said already, but I'd like to reiterate that this is Ultimate Spider-Man, not the "real" Spider-Man that's been around since the 60s. Ultimate is an alternate universe, Marvel used it to try to modernize and update some of their heros, without messing up the original ones. Anyway, the real Spidey in the regular Marvel universe, Peter Parker, is currently just fine. He's working at a science job that allows him to develop new gadgets for himself, he's a member of the Avengers, and of the FF.

Also, with the new Ultimate Spidey, forget about race for a minute, did anyone else notice that they stuck with alliteration for his name? Peter Parker. Miles Morales.

Morales. I guess that means his mom was black and his dad was of some sort of hispanic descent. Is that racist somehow? Like the hispanic dominating the black or something?

This whole thing reminds me of all the silliness surround THIS STORYabout the "Batman of Paris" being a muslim.

And African/Latino Spiderman. I like that, have no problem with it, but let's give him his own unique costume.
