I bought a Ps3 a couple of months ago but i didn't upgraded my Tv. But as i have noticed that games are getting better graphically and my standard definition tv is not good for me anymore so i decided to get a high-def tv but i'm completely lost becaue i have no idea about wht is the difference between a plasma and a LCD tv and which one is right for me. Well its a small room so i'm looking for around 26 inches but i don't know should i get either a plasma or a LCD... So What should i get? A Plasma or an LCD

LCD's are better, they last way longer.

Plasma:Pros-Makes you look rich...thats about it

Plasma:Cons:Breaks if you place it face down-cant see anything when light is hitting screen-doesnt last very long(bout a year or two before it burns out)

LCD:Pros-Crisp picture-picture doesnt get blured out when light hits-Durable, and other things.

LCD:Cons-Might geta couple of dead pixels(as with everyother LCD/plasma), cant think of anything else.

1080p is better than 720p for obvious reasons. And no I don't think there are.. it's very hard to get 1080p resolution TVs under around 36 inches. Anyways if you want a small TV, buy a 720p TV, you can't see the difference when the TV's that small.

Well you only need to look at the prices to know that LCD is supposed to be better. It's been in development much longer, but plasma is actually becoming very comparable lately, to the point where your average person wouldn't notice much of a difference. I still prefer a high quality LCD screen, to a plasma one, but I would now consider a plasma, whereas 2 years ago I definitely wouldn't have.

I love my dad's Plasma. Don't listen to these ignorant fools, Plasma technology has advanced beyond the "doesn't last as long, screen burns in way to easily" etc.

Plasma's have darker, more detailed blacks than LCDs. Also a Plasma that has a glass screen is way better than a silk screen LCD, in which you get "silk screen effect" and other bad effects.

Now saying all that, I also like my cheap Vizio VX32L LCD tv .... :)

No, LCDs are better. You only think Plasmas are better because you have one. Its that simple. The argument is redundant anyway since the technology on both fronts advances so rapidly. OLED TVs will end up taking the quality crown in a couple years anyhow.

Digital Light Projection with LED tech I personally think is the best. Obviously 1080P over all, but if you are getting something smaller then 42in then LCD and 720P.

"LCDs are better" is so objective. It depends on which brands we're talking about, at what pricepoint, how big, etc. I just felt the need to say something for plasma's with people being so misinformed. Here's an article about Plasma versus LCD if you want to read more about it.

In this guys case I'd say an LCD is the best bet, since he wants such a small screen size. Vizio at that size are the best deal I've found, but that was a couple months back as I haven't checked

My dad was in display technology for a bit--plasma isn't very good technology.

Yeah, IMO, if you are going for the best, its Plasma all the way, the blacks are actually black, the picture and motion is like 10x smoother than an LCD. With an LCD you get massive pixelation. I mean I am not sure if it would keep me from getting one, but for the price, Plasmas are the best.
