I believe the Great Tribulation will take place, with three and a half years of peace, and then three and a half years of war, and then Christ will come. Due to the large amount of prophecies being fulfilled, also, I believe it will be sometime in the near future (next a hundred years or so). Here are some passages speaking a lot on it:
(Mark 13:5-10) - "And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: {6} For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. {7} And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. {8} For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. {9} But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. {10} And the gospel must first be published among all nations."

(Mark 13:11-15) - "But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. {12} Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. {13} And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. {14} But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: {15} And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house."

(Mark 13:16-20) - "And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment. {17} But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! {18} And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. {19} For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. {20} And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

(Mark 13:21-29) - "And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: {22} For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. {23} But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. {24} But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, {25} And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. {26} And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. {27} And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. {28} Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: {29} So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
EDIT (I forgot to add this): This topic's purpose is evangelism. Please keep the discussion on Christian-based subjects (the Bible, God's existence, etc.) and, of course, the topic's question. Thank you.
God bless,
Crushmaster.

People have been saying Jesus will by returning soon for hundreds of years, the chances that he's going to return within anyone's lifetime are too slim.

First Jesus was going to come back in the lifetimes of those who lived concurrent to his life, then he was going to come back in the year 1000, then he was going to come back in the year 2000...

I'm kinda starting to see a pattern here. :P

Is this another evangelism thread? It is Crushmaster after all...

Anyway, I don't think the world will end any time soon. Even so, the world ends when I die as far as I'm concerned.

Not soon. If he comes, it might be on his 10,000th birthday... not sure how a 3.5 year long war would look like in an age like that though...

Yes, they have been saying that for a long time. But, hundreds of years ago, many of the prophecies fulfilled now were not yet fulfilled (Israel becoming a nation again comes to mind).

If there's one thing that's a constant in evangelical Christianity, it's people believing that this time all the prophecies are actually fulfilled and Jesus is definitely finally coming. Hate to break it to you, but people have been saying identical things for, well, two thousand years now. And if you're going to say that before they were wrong but this time you're right, then that would also be consistent with all those other people predicting the second coming throughout history. :P

If he does come soon, you can bet he will run around beating people to death with a mighty rightgous wooden cross in a Benny Hill-meets-anime fashion. You know, so the end times will reflect the current times.

Yes, they have been saying it for two thousand years.
But Israel has not been a nation again for near that long - it only become one once more only about sixty years ago.

If you think you're the first person to have thought that a prophecy had been fulfilled where before it hadn't and that this means that this time Jesus is definitely coming, I'm afraid to say that you are sorely mistaken.

The evidence is in the interpretation; like how you interpret the end-times stuff to fit this day and age when the fact of the matter is that is a recent interpretation that isn't even implied in the Bible. Do you even know the history of dispensationalism (the belief that we are living in the end-times)?

By the way, http://all-ez.com/atlantis1.htm

Warning: the crazy mess on that site will reduce your brain cells, but that is all based on a real man who genuinely believed what he was saying.

I'll quote the correct answer. If one believed in the "End Times", there is nothing going on today that would make anyone think the world is coming to an end. Times have been much rougher in the last 2000 years, just the fact we're all interconnected with information means we know about it all. I'm fairly sure the whole world would all be going bats!*&@ around the time of the plague if everyone knew the death rates.

It would be announced by great misery right? There is no great misery in where we all live. A thousand years ago, one would need some 100 slaves to do all the work oil is doing for us now. We're all living like kings. Also no one is claiming to be any messiah. I hate to break it to you, but I see no signs of any end times coming. Maybe once the oil is gone things start to look like it.

Also I can't see how Israël would ever be a holy land. It's been a constant battleground for forever now. Doesn't fit my description of a holy land. Besides, it is by no means a slab of land blessed with resources or fertile nature. It's just a worthless slab of land that people care about too much.

Can you enlighten us to what the "End Times prophecies" are?AnObscureName

Things that will happen before Christ returns. For example:
(Matthew 24:4-8) - "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. {5} For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. {6}And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. {7} For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers place. {8} All these are the beginning of sorrows."
Also, look at this:

There have always been wars, there have always been famines, earthquakes and whatnot and I haven't seen any increase in false prophets (not that I see any at all). Just because we've now got internet and tv to actually see them doesn't mean they didn't exist before. Hell, the medieval times showed more symptoms of the return of jesus. There were famines, earthquakes, plagues, false prophets, you name it. Still, all that misery didn't mean time ended. Humanity actually came out of it stronger than ever.

[QUOTE="Shad0ki11"] So when do you estimate Jesus will return?:P Crushmaster
I believe it will be soon, due to all we are seeing. But, whether or not it is, every day that passes makes it more imminent.

Give me a time frame.

Haha wow people actually live their lives according to a >2000 year old collection of scriptures. This both amuses and saddens me. By all means, don't mind me, I'm just here to watch.

I'm surprised that the number of atheists in OT has increased.

[QUOTE="Morning_Revival"][QUOTE="btaylor2404"][QUOTE="GabuEx"]

First Jesus was going to come back in the lifetimes of those who lived concurrent to his life, then he was going to come back in the year 1000, then he was going to come back in the year 2000...

I'm kinda starting to see a pattern here. :P

Although another Pandemic is imminent, lets hope it doesnt happen in our lifetimes or your childrens (I think you have children, correct?)

Yes, and yes. I do agree we're due, lets hope we don't have the percent of population losses some European countries had.
