The big thing is that Sky Lab they set where it was going to come down because the thrusters still worked. This one just died so they have no control as to were it is coming down.blasto65_basic

... holy crap, that would actually be kinda cool to have a real life Cloverfield.
You say that now.....A large U.S. spy satellite has lost power and could hit the Earth in late February or March, government officials said Saturday and the satellite, which no longer can be controlled, could contain hazardous materials, and it is unknown where on the planet it might come down
COME ON Afghanistan!!
I will laugh my ass off if this ine hits Australia, too.

 They destroyed the monster in the movie, right? Right?! All we have to do is do what they did! :?
Whe have asteroid which is suppose to hit earth, now we have a satellite and the world is suppose to be ending 21/12/ 2012
ahhhhhhh
Wouldn't it burn up?Kikouken
Depends on a lot of factors. Some people have mentioned safe re-entries where objects have been properly burned up in the past, but these have been mostly controlled. Objects can potentially re-enter at at angle which will let them remain generally intact; for example, the Space Shuttle would disintegrate if it came in too shallow or too steep, but at the right angle it isn't even damaged (ok, it's designed to withstand heat, but the concept is similar). The actual chances are pretty low though, and even if it does survive, it will most likely hit the sea.
