Of course. I used to be gay but I have changed. Sure you still have temptations but you really can do it if you want.

redmen12

I'm just curious, how do you go about doing that? I mean, do you just ignore the temptations entirely?

Sort of. I still look at a guy and I say to myself "He looks good".

But now I feel different, its like the impulses are still there, but I control my mind to never lust after anyone, male or female. Tbh, it has made my life much simpler. After restricting yourself from any lust whatsoever, you kinda of just feel like God made things the way the way they are for a reason.

No man is given a cross he cannot carry,

So you look at a guy and think he looks good but don't lust after him? But you still think he looks good? Sorry to break it to you, I think you might still be gay I've come to this conclusion based on the fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to change your sexual orientation. It's not a choice, it's just another part of who you are. It can't be healthy to repress your feelings.

I was talking with some friends during lunch time in school today, and one girl came up to our table and asked if we'd like to fill out a survey (though she didn't say what it was about). When we got it, it was about homosexuality. Me and my friends filled it out. Here are the questions and my answers:

What do you believe causes homosexuality?

Not sure, but it'sprobably biological.

My answer: There is no one single cause. It is a mixture of several important factors.

Do you believe homosexuality is something that can be grown out of?

Yes

My answer: It may be possible, but most evidence suggests that it is not.

Do you believe in gay marriage?

I am strongly opposed to gay marriage.

My answer: I believe in gay civil unions. "Marriage" is a religious term, and a Church may reserve the right to deny a couple, gay or not, marriage for whatever reasons they choose.

Do you believe gay couples should be allowed to adopt?

Absolutley not. Think about the child who is being adopted, NOT about the parents.

My answer: Only if they meet the qualifications for adoption and only if they are recognised as a couple by the State.

If, hypothetically, you have a child that turns out gay and you consider homosexuality immoral, would you support him/her?

I'm 18 years old, I can't answer that now.

My answer: Of course.

We turned them in and discussed our answers for a little while.

What would your answers be?

Q: What do you believe causes homosexuality? A: Something that happens in the brain before birth. Something that isn't a huge deal or else it would have been noted. Q: Do you believe homosexuality is something that can be grown out of? A: Don't think so. I couldn't force myself to be gay so I don't think gays can force themselves to be straight. Q: Do you believe in gay marriage? A: It doesn't affect me if they're married. Q: Do you believe gay couples should be allowed to adopt? A: Tough one. The straight child of a gay couple will be ridiculed, exiled, and abused in public school. However, this happens every day anyway for no reason. Q: If, hypothetically, you have a child that turns out gay and you consider homosexuality immoral, would you support him/her?
A: Yep. It would be hard for me not to after my earlier answers.

Someone can just as easily say your opinion is wrong. You're standing as a human holds no more authority.

Trashface

Yes, they could, but that doesn't mean it would indeed be wrong.

[QUOTE="stevenk4k5"][QUOTE="Funky_Llama"][QUOTE="mindstorm"]

What do you believe causes homosexuality?

My answer: The sinful nature just like any other sin. One could say it's "biological" as all people are sinful.

Trashface

*facepalm* I was waiting for the fundies to pounce.

Same here. Good greif. *Shaking my head*

Pounced? You 2 are the ones that pounced on her (or him).Hypocrits, I tell ya.

Difference being, we're right. :P

What do you believe causes homosexuality?

The wiring of one's brain.

Do you believe homosexuality is something that can be grown out of?

No.

Do you believe in gay marriage?

I believe that people should be able to wed whomever they want with in the boundaries of the law. If the laws says no, then no. If they say yes, then ok.

Do you believe gay couples should be allowed to adopt?

Yes. I'm sure they couldn't be any worse than hetero couples.

If, hypothetically, you have a child that turns out gay and you consider homosexuality immoral, would you support him/her?

Yes. It's my kid.

If you're gay you're gay forever and after. The only thing you can do is ignore your urges...which would mean your life is meaningless. And one is born gay...or bi, or straight...lol.a55assin

Sexuality is hardly the meaning of life.

actually not at all. marriage is between a man and a woman. end of story. regardless if my child was gay.

and about the adoption thing, many guardians are mentally unstable, i could be wrong, but i would to see any child be raised in a household better than a orphanage.

An adoption agency needs to verify the mental stability of a couple that wants to adopt. . . .

go ahead and let them. i believe mental instability caused the homosexuality to begin with. not that they are unable to live out their lives after that. the agency might find nothing wrong with their mental state, and in that case they should help a child if thats what they want to do. not all mental problems mean you're a raving lunatic foaming at the mouth.

Not shure if I "believe" in it. But I don't mind it.

Do you believe gay couples should be allowed to adopt?

Yeah, if the parents teach the kid what being g@ is.

If, hypothetically, you have a child that turns out gay and you consider homosexuality immoral, would you support him/her?

Yes.

I would answer almost exactly like that except for the first answer I would put: A combination of genetic inclinations and enviornmental factors.

This isn't necessarily true. Very few behavioral things are set in stone when you are born. Environmental factors play a HUGE roll in behavioral traits. Sexual orientation may fall under that category.
