Anyone got a value on Absolute Zero?
Im pretty sure -458 isn't it.
Also, contrary to this students claims, we havent been able to reach Absolute Zero, only get close.
If you want to grasp at straws, trying to invalidate his argument, this would be a good start.
Overall, I do not believe either recollection actually occurred, and both are very flawed..
That was idiotic. Scripted conversations FTL.
No proffesor would actually come with such idiotic arguments to begin with.
This is nothing more than Christian propaganda.

True.
It failed as soon as the student said 'man evolved from monkeys, correct?'
There are so many flaws with the argument that it is ridiculous.
Apart from both sides having completely flawed arguements, yeah it was exciting. The student did own the professor, relatively. The reason I say "relatively" is that he owned the professor using his own flawed assumptions. If the arguement was made to someone competent, it would never stand, but to under the misinformed "facts' produced by teacher, his arguement is pretty good.

absolute zero is -273 degrees celcius or 0 degrees kelvin
edit: I think the kid was making this arguement using farenheit, in which case absolute zero is 459 degrees F. basically, the kid used the wrong value. And im also curious as to why the kid and the professor knew the value of absolute 0 in farenheight. In physics (Thermodynamics) we use SI units, and so the only values that one would know of the top of their head for absolute zero are either -273C or 0 K. The fact that the student and the professor knew these values of the top of their heads is very dubious as Im almost certain there is no school or university that teaches thermodynamics using Fnon SI units.

Ah, Seraphim, from the 90's kids suck thread :P
Yeah, -273 Celcius was the value i was after, good ol physics textbook, couldnt be bothered flicking through 800 pages of great story telling for that value.
And converted to Farenheit, he is out by 1, thats enough for me to disregard the rest of his argument, thanks for that :)
