Are you serious? Really? Did you just say that? Those things are waaaaay different. Legalizing rape is WAY worse than teaching creationism to our wifes. You are telling me teaching children something you don't believe in is worse than making women in a country slaves to their husbands? Wow.

Or let's think about it long term. Don't think about it as "teaching creationism", think of it as "trying to drag our country's science foundation back into the dark ages".

How many lives stand to be lost by legalizing rape? How many lives stand to be lost by creating a culture which relies on mysticism rather than empiricism for knowledge, and which shuns the goddamn foundation of modern biology simply because it is deemed offensive.

The people opposing evolution are fighting a holy war. They want to destroy science in order to please their god, and they don't care how many people suffer and die as a result. They want no less than a return to the dark ages.

I am an asian living in North America and in our culture back home, it is looked down upon if you are not a circumcised male. It sounds messed up if you are not from our culture, but in ours, it is perfectly normal. It's a rite of passage for men. In fact if you proudly proclaim you aren't circumcised, you be laughed and sadly, the chances of a girl will going out with you is slim.

Our culture does not see this as a violation of rights. In fact, mentioning this issue with a fellow man, and they will look at you funny. Most men from my country are proud that they are cut. It is only when I came to North America, that I found out that this act was barbaric. Of course, I was definitely surprised.

My question to you now is, are you the kind of person to denounce our culture traditions as barbaric? If there comes a law that outlaws such procedures, would you support it?

This is a very interesting topic for me and I'm not out to flame or criticize. I just want to share opinions on this matter with people who don't share the same traditions as me.

well, what if there is a group ofsoldiers on patrol in Afghanastan who hear a rape happening? of course they are going to prevent it and or stop it (most likely). You cant just ignore a rape If you are morally obligated to stop it.But teaching a more liberal interpretation may also help.
