I think the problem with an AIDS "cure" is that AIDS is not what's going to kill you, its the virus or bacterial infection that you get due to having a reduced capacity immune system. So its not a problem of finding a wonder drug and having it work, its finding out how AIDS works and stopping that process. Which will probably involve some hefty genetic research.

31% is a nice improvement in a lab but they've got a long way to go.

Sure, but it's the first effective human trial. And yes, it's amazing how intelligence flies out the window when sex is involved. In many ways, I'd prefer they spend the money from AIDs research on cancer or other non-preventable issues instead.psychobrew
