Alice in Chains: Layne Staley vs. William DuVall

Most or some of you may know that Alice in Chains will be releasing their new album this September called "Black Gives Away to Blue". I made this poll because I think AIC is better with Layne rather than William (too bad Layne is dead:cry: ). I listened to their new single called "A Looking in View" and it doesn't sound like AIC to me. So who do you think is better, Layne or William?

Layne Staley by FAR. Though the new singer ain't bad.

Layne for sure, no could harmonize better with Jerry Cantrell either better than Staley. But no disrespect to DuVall, good for him going out there and singing in Layne's place.

Obviously Layne, however I thought the new single didn't sound too bad, and aside from the vocals, actually did sound like AIC. I'm psyched for them, I love the 90's grunge scene, and my dream would be to have Soundgarden reunite.

There really is no comparison. Staley died because of his creative spark. His depression is what fueled his emotion behind the microphone. DuVall is a good replacement, but the band won't ever be the same. I am going to buy the album day one regardless though. A Looking In View is a fantastic song. Check My Brain is decent, but I doubt they won't have more gems like Looking.

Anyway, Staley by far.But the new singer is a good replacement.

Based on the new songs there isn't much difference in the sound of their voices
