Yea so crazy ridiculous that 2 out of 8 planets in our galaxy actually contain/contained some form of life.

Brainkiller05

Galaxy? In our solar system yes there is/were 2 planets that have/once had lifeforms but in the whole galaxy? We don't know.

You can't form a statistic on the whole galaxy which has billions of stars and billions more planets from 1 solar system with 8 planets.

It can't be "ignorance" if nobody (including yourself) actually knows whether or not there is other intelligent life. It's simply a personal belief. Perhaps you should go back to the 5th grade.

We can't be certain one way or the other, so why are you trying to start a flame war over it? Grow up.

One can at least make a pretty educated guess that it is possible. Our solar system and star is by no means the oldest in the universe, there are far older solar systems/stars out there.. In a Universe of 300+ million galaxies out there.. Each with 100 billion to 500 billion stars as last estimated.. I would think most would see it as a huge possibility when your given such a large pool.

Anything is possible, that's my point. We don't know, so there is no point in arguing about it.

And...a pretty educated guess that it is possible? Come on.I'm well aware of the origin of the universe and our solar system, and like someone else already said, do you know what the chances of intelligent life being formed are? Yea, so small it's actually conceivable that we could be exclusive to the universe. Again, it's a dead end argument.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were a number of of life-harbouring planets in our very own galaxy.

..says a person with little knowledge.

Consider this:

Our galaxy contains 200 billion stars that are the same as our sun... (however vary in size, smaller and 10x larger for eg.)

Our galaxy is just one of 125 billion galaxies.

Still think we are the only life? if so that's pretty ignorant.

Brainkiller05

yes, that is true, but you also have to consider the infintessimally small chances of a planet being in the right position relative to a star to create and sustain life.

as far as we know, which is pretty far, there are no aliens yet.

Well of course you believe in aliens. You're comment at the bottom says it all. Heaven isn't a lie and there is no mention of aliens in the Bible. The Bible has been historically proven and all of creation is mentioned in the Bible. If you can prove that heaven is a lie then do it. You can believe what you want but until there's proof that aliens exist I refuse to entertain the idea.

It's pretty ignorant to be making claims of existence without being able to provide a shred of evidence.

They've already discovered primitive plant life on Mars so there's no reason to deny it...Funkdaddy13

"The universe is big, so aliens must exist."

This is unscientific, and just plain stupid.
