i would strongly suggest against the prius myself for many reasons.
1. it is a bore to drive.
2. it makes you look like a pompous ***.
3. it is counterproductive in that it allows us to hold on to gasoline even longer instead of pursuing true alternative renewable energy. (wind, solar, geothermal, hydro-electic, etc.
but this video i saw pointed out another thing wrong with the prius. it has become just another icon. it's not the best, it's not innovative, it's not the most fuel effecient. it's simply what hollywood chose to popularize.
if i may point out the specific detail that caused me to post this topic.
"but factor in the prius's high sticker price, and it would take more than 400,000 miles of driving to make your money back EVEN IF gas shoots up to 5$ a gallon."
(This is comparing the prius to honda's insight)
so i guess what i'm trying to say is don't buy into all this hype.
the best way still to ecomodd is to get that 1985 geo metro that you wouldn't have in a century.
if all you really cared about was fuel effeciency, you would have an older lighter car, such as an audi 4000 or an old toyota tercel or something.
