I'd like to see a well qualified man or woman become president and I could care less what his or her skin color is.
I think it is so wrong and a form of prejudice to favor someone over someone else based on a physical feature alone. I wanted Condleez to run for years and could care less about her sex or race.
Just give me someone qualified and uncorruptable and doesn't just say whatever it takes to get elected
The thing is, Native Americans are classified as independent nations from the USA. I'm no expert on government or political science, but would a Native American even be eligible to run? If their tribes are considered independent nations, are they therefore not US citizens?Martin_Stuart
He means somebody of Native American descent, not necessarily somebody who was born on a reservation.

its only fair. ReaperV7Sorry to tell you, the world isn't fair, and besides most native americans live in thier own nations anyway.
Actually, in the story I'm writing, a Native American is the President. :D
I don't have plans to make a big deal out of it. In fact, I may not even mention it at all. It's funny you mention that, though.

This ^^
its only fair. ReaperV7I'm strictly against defining a president by his race but I think that'd be really cool considering they were here first and being the leader of their once lost land would be amazing to see.
[QUOTE="xMOBSTER23x"]Am I the only one who's not particularly concerned about the race of a US president?links136
Its really is about the race, more of that the race that had their land stolen and culture of that race almost exterminated becoming the leader of their land again.
Fixed.
But I understand your point, just like I understand the pride many black Americans(and Americans of all races, as well as people of the world) feel knowing that a minority(black man especially) has been elected president.
But my point is race isn't something that I consider when deciding who to give my vote.

I don't think the argument is you should vote for a native american, just that it would be good to see.
