I love how everyone in amazon is reviewing the book and giving it one stars just because it's written by an inmate. Where's the logic in that? I guess we should void everything Albert Einstein has put worth into math and science, he did have a learning disorder.
Because a serial killer wrote a book about it, and I feel surprised, as if I didn't know it. Besides, another guy (whose name starts with an "H" and ends with an "R") wrote "Mein Kampf (My Struggle)" in the '30s, you know.angeldeb82It's not about his criminal actions......
Didn't a former leader of the Crips serving a life sentence write a bunch of children's books and get a Nobel Peace Prize?cd_romTookie Williams.

Speaking of "Mein Kampf" you can buy that on Amazon, why aren't people up in arms about that?
"The killer also allegedly told Burtinshaw that he prefers "to write in semi-darkness, alone in the nude."" AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA!xTheExploited
Well, there's your problem right there!

so let me get this straight, you object to a convicted criminal productively contributing to society and you compare a childrens book to mein kampf?
Doesn't surprise me. I'm pretty sure if Casey Anthony wrote a book it could have nothing to do with the case and be the best book ever but people would boycott it just because she wrote it. Same thing with this guy, he's a serial killer so nobody wants to support his work.
The author of something should matter far less than its content...unless it's Fox News; then we can dismiss whatever is said without even knowing what was said.
I think if the author offends people they shouldn't purchase the book. But it's not up to them to decide what others chose to purchase. LJS9502_basic
But LJS, think of the children!!

 I was thinking exactly this.

One's a fictional story and the other is a "news" channel that's been caught out on several occaisions running misleading stories or outright lies. See the difference?

I see the difference, but I'm not sure what point you're making. Are you saying that we can dismiss the content of a body of data without actually taking any steps to determine its merit?
He's a murderer, not a child rapist. People who murder people can still write books, you know. Some of the most twisted people ever are wonderful writers.XilePrincessWe don't know that; however, we do know he likes to think about children when nude and in the dark.

On that subject, what would it matter if he were a child molester? He's not going to molest anybody via novel, unless there are some recent innovations in book making that I don't know about.
Unless the book gives in depth descriptions of how he killed people then I don't see what people are getting offended about, it's just a childrens book.

I'm saying that when a known liar tells me something I'm disinclined to believe them, at least until I hear the same thing from someone else. I'm not really sure what point you were trying to make ether in comparing two completely different things.

I assume you mean "disciplined not to believe them." A bunch of people on the Internet are disciplined to disbelieve a known murderer, apparently. My point is that we can't dismiss the content of a body of data without taking steps to determine its merit. You can doubt the veracity of a source based on past experience, which might lead you to investigate it,but you can't automatically dismiss it. I think the situation here is similar enough to make the analogy. You seem to have understood it. People have a prejudice against a source, so they assume some information issued by the source is suspect in some way, without actually reviewing the information.

The only reason I can see people being so offended is because of the idea that purchasingthe book will somehow add money to him or his estate, which is the main reason people were calling for protests of anything Casey Anthony-related in terms of interviews, books, etc. after her acquittal out of concern she would profit.

No, I mean "disinclined", as in "not inclined to". And I still don't know what point you're attempting to make. You're comparing a book of fiction, by its nature a made up story, to a channel which purports to be news, news being, or supposing to be, a factual account according to avalible data.

Yes, you have identified the particulars of the situations. I am not referencing the particulars, but a principle common to both situations. If you have an issue with what I said...

...then write it down.
