[QUOTE="duxup"][QUOTE="Apocalypse33"]you guys do realize what those cops did was illegal, he committed no crime...Panzer-schreck
Dude was asked to leave by the folks in charge and didn't. You gotta leave when the folks ask you to. You really got to go when the cops ask you to.
A position I'd expect to hear from someone in an authoritative position - namely, being a mod on Gamespot. Being in the Q and A session is not illegal. Asking questions in the session is not illegal. Asking questions out of turn is rude, but not ILLEGAL.
The cops made a spectacle out of a non-issue, Kerry was going to answer his last question. The cops overstepped their boundaries.
But being a mod, you have to support authority. I understand.
Wow. Such a condescending attitude. Wonderful. But whether one is in a position of authority or not is irrelevant. Private property is opened to the public at the owner's discretion. You're right, being the the Questions and Answers session is not illegal. Asking questions was not illegal. Asking questions out of turn is not illegal.
However, the matter is that he was asked to leave by the owner or the executor of the event who was standing in as the owner. At that point, his continued presence is technically trespassing as he no longer possesses the permission of the "owner." This is illegal. The police officers were within their rights as they tried to escort him off of the premises. He resisted them, and tried to run away, which is when he was brought down. He was repeated told that if he did not cooperate he would be subject to the taser. And that is what happened.
Being a mod or not has nothing to do with the issue.
[QUOTE="TongHua"][QUOTE="Smoke89"]I find it funny that they tazered that kid. While I was in Austin we had to drive by the capitol building. The first day there was a man holding a sign that said "F*** BUSH" , and no1 did anything. The second day the same guy was there with others holding signs that said "9/11 was an inside job" and again proceded to stand there all day.Smoke89
That's free speech, you aren't hurting anyone by what you're saying and the people who are disagreeing with you can't do anything :D
I still find it sick that some1 would procede to put up signs saying 9/11 was done to ourselves.
What's so hard to believe about it. It wouldn't be the first time that a government harmed its own populace in order to press its own agenda. Did you ever see V for Vendetta?
Anyway, there is nothing wrong with peaceful protest in this situation. However, if the individuals were on private property and they were asked by the owner of the property to leave, then it is not infringement upon freedom of speech. It would be an issue of respecting personal/private property and space; much like the current subject of debate.
pretty simple actually: he went past the time limit, was asked nicely to leave, he made a scene, the cops intervened, he resisted and acted like a complete ass to the point where they could not restrain him, so they tasered him, i would have done the same...g-unit248exactly he deserved it. hes lucky the police were as nice as they were. they caught a couple of elbows from him and he got away pretty cleanly physically. doesn't happen often when you attack a police officer.

I find it disturbing that some of you laugh at this.HummaKavula
The kid is an ass. He stood out on streets with signs attempting to spoiler (or fake-spoil) endings to Harry Potter books and such.
I find it disturbing that some of you laugh at this.HummaKavulath kid acted like an idiot and cause a disturbance at a public event involving a respected government figure. When asked to leave he caused a scene and forced the police to intervene. He then resisted arrest, elbowed a few of the officers, and was dealt with accordingly. I have no respect for the asshat.

Maybe he was being an ass, maybe he did deserve it, but it certainly isn't anything to point and laugh about.

Yesterday this issue was brought up and a link to an article was given. In that article it goes into detail about how this guy is a bit of a prankster.
