[QUOTE="Dasacant"] Your experiance doesn't qualify you to generalize Americans as a group as anything. you said yourself your experiences where very limited in scope. Dasacant

And so is yours. So who is to say I am wrong? Your media doesn't help very much with that image either.

My media? I have not generalized at all, America is far to diverse for me to do that, I never said that all americans where ignorant nor did I say they where all intelligent. This is fact.

You said the majorty are not.

[QUOTE="KDIDDY78"]

[QUOTE="King-Saddam"] That could be argued, size can beat quality you know. How are my statements misleading?Espada12

because for example the chinese have 5 million fighters(example) inferior weapons outdated planes etc...what good is that...equals a slaughter for the US...personal size doesnt matter....and secondly we are all volunteer...cant beat that

You think china has outdated planes? You do realise a chinese plane shot down the most advanced american fighter there is right?.. Right??

Incase you don't believe me.

If you are talking about in an exercise I am not suprised, F-22's have the been "shot down before.".

How old are you? Considering I own several AK assualt rifles I have never had one jam on me or the receiver explode. One could argue about the JTF vs FA18. The M16 is a disgrace. Personally German weapons FTW.

older than you 30...i work for the system(healthcare) i know we have problems...your points of akvs.m16 f18's vs migs fall short on substance...no matter what i say you contiue to believe your views and likewise for me....i agree to disagree...although i can see from your original post why you say you wont return to the US...your views are very radical and anti american...even when you say you are not anti american...everything you argue is how america is bad...do you have anything good to say about your homeland?

It is a country I feel safe in ( certain parts) as well as the political system. Then again all 1st world countries offer this safety and do a whole lot better. Never did I mention M.i.Gs the JTF and Eurofighter typhoon as well as the SU-37 > F/A 18. You do realize when there is nothing to praise the logical thing to do is not to praise it. That is the difference between me and you, you are a blind patriot and an ultra nationalist you admit it in your posts. Lastly how am I supposed to love a country which hates me so much (civilian population). (middle easterns)

It has no bearing on their actual military strengths, if wanna go down this road I could simply say that the f-22 was better then them all.

America should just slam down their fist and go into a full on state of authoritarianism, then you got two types of people; a patriot and someone who's been told to STFU.

I mean, if trying to play the good guy isn't working then just sod it, go all out, sort those people out! You see, they got a problem, it's the same sort of problem that will occur if their was ever a race war. Imagine if the world went stir crazy, and some how we end up with whites and blacks battling it out. Well, the blacks will win for sure, because half of the whites willbe like "No this racism war is wrong!" while all the blacks go at it like knifes. My relevance to this? It's the same sort of thing with America and pretty much everything they do. Their people spend too much time worrying on doing the right thing when they should be supporting their counties demands, it's yours, take it!

Imagine it, The American Dictatorship! I'll love to see the look on peoples faces  Actually I already know what it'll be like, it'll be like the picture below except with cowboy hats instead of headscarfs.

Also the tan would be a little more orange.

Except you can't fly it in rain. Good job for nitpicking I gave you 3 aircraft. The SU-37 > F/A 18. The only reason why it isn't in production is because Russia can't afford it at the moment.

The only reason there arn't as many f-22's is america can't affored them :| also last i heard f-22's could withstand a rainstorm without degrading the stealth coating.

Europe is showing signs of an individualist resurgence, but it's to a much smaller extent than in the U.S. Western Europe is pretty much the best part of the world to be in right now, IMO.

The F-22 is out of production because it sucks according to your logic. Nor was the F-22 ever used in combat. Guess what the reason is. The USA can't afford it, just like the rest of the world its hard to restock your aircraft every 5 years.

First link on yahoo Assertion: The F-22 is vulnerable to rain and other elements due to its stealthy skin. Facts: The F-22 is an all-weather fighter and rain is not an issue. The F-22 is currently based and operating in the harshest climates in the world ranging from the desert in Nevada and California, to extreme cold in Alaska, and rain/humidity in Florida, Okinawa and Guam. In all of these environments the F-22 has performed extremely well. thats from the Air Force Assosciation website :|

The AFA actually responded to that article you linked. , the Post claims the F-22's mission capable rate for "guarding U.S. airspace" is 55 percent. This is misleading. The Raptor's overall mission capable rate has improved from 62 percent to 68 percent from 2004 to 2009. The article is correct when it notes the F-22 requires a significant amount of maintenance hours per flight hour. But the majority of those hours are spent on the F-22's stealthy skin. The ability of an aircraft to remain unseen by a radar system is an enormous technological accomplishment. Stealth is not magic; it requires precision and a dedication to meticulous detail. In addition, the article incorrectly states the F-22's stealthy skin "is vulnerable to rain." Further, the F-22 requires far less work to maintain its stealthy characteristics than its predecessors, the F-117 and B-2. http://www.afa.org/EdOp/2009/edop_7-14-09.aspz

Seriously dude Atlanta falcons? Pittsburgh Live? These are your answers to the Air Force Association? IGN for gods sake did you just go to google and grab as many links as possible? This is hilarious!

The pentagon came out and gave the reason why they cut it out of production.

They cut it because it is frikken expensive :| and they could eventually replace it with the f-35. You know I am through arguing with you, it seems you will not stop arguing no matter how many times your claims are proven to be misleading or even outright false, so good night,. You may continue to preach how americans are ignorant of other cultures while you yourself are ignorant of American culture.

who did this topic end up about Militery jets? In any case, I often think one of the reasons Europe does not have the same point of view as the US has, is that we border right up to alot of those countries :S

But it is true, if your country has a conflict with another country, it kinda is your duty as a citisen to learn about that country (not to mention the goverment needs to).

Lets see if the Iran thing doessnt cool down? The nuclear instecters have gotten access again, and unless they find something very suspicious, then lets just focus on getting a better relationship with them in general, right? Lets not do the Iraq thing again :s

Oh on a side note: the F22 has been dropped, it wontbecome the plane they copunted on, the program was too expensive, and vs some of the fighter/bombers out there,it moved like a brick. So it wont ever become a mainstray.

And you wont find a whole lot of classified infor on Mili. Projects on the evening news, theyre classified -.- except when a program gets it plug pulled, it seems.

What troubles me the most is the incessant violence in Iraq. Iraqis are considered violent, barbaric animals by the media to convince people that "they deserved it." Another thing about the US that makes me sad is that they support Israel. How can anyone like Israel after how ruthless Operation Cast Lead was?

Anyways I hope future generation Americans will be smarter, although I doubt that seeing how badly the schools suck in America.

Europe is showing signs of an individualist resurgence, but it's to a much smaller extent than in the U.S. Western Europe is pretty much the best part of the world to be in right now, IMO.

and why is that?

It's an opinion, for one, but Western European countries have the most stable democracies in the world, not to mention the world's best healthcare, a far healthier populace than that of the U.S., and nudity is not nearly as much of an issue across the pond (they show breasts on primetime TV in the Scandinavian countries, for example). It's just a more open-minded, secular place.

America is (unfortunately) a nation of people who call themselves either individualists or the religious right (collectivists). Both voting blocks are large supporters of the Republican Party, and are highly infuential in national politics. I don't think that Libertarians are individualists, though. They go on the internet and engage in groupthink, reinforcing each other's lopsided ideas of what is good for the world. They're rapidly becoming collectivists without knowing it, and the Right is just going to keep on gaining prestige with the American people. Things are looking bad right now. :(

Democrats control all levels of federal government. Alarmists are no needed on any side of the political spectrum.

Ummm, the Judicial Branch? The SCOTUS is the most conservative it's ever been. Moreover, the Democratic Party is spit between moderates and conservatives these days. For example, the Blue Dogs are pandering to their conservative base. That's hardly "controlling all levels of federal government," as you so eloquently put it.

It's about half and half, with the Chief Justice of course being more conservative. That's hardly worthy of you calling America a "nation of people who call themselves either individualists or the religious right" especially considering the Justices were appointed, not elected by the "nation of people." As I so eloquently put it earlier, alarmists are not needed on any side.

I don't think you realize what you're saying. If simply stating the facts is being 'alarmist,' then paint me an alarmist. Don't you think individualism and collectivism have taken us in a bad path?

You sound kind of bigoted. Leaving the country to change it isn't going to work.

is the rest of the country really that bad?

maybe I am just isolated here in California (no, I am not being an elitist, merely pondering) but what you describe I dont encounter in all but maybe 1 or 2 people a year.

Also, people need to distinguish between American culture, and political beliefs. Theyre quite different, and I find the culture of America great, while political beliefs are often horrible.

Great. I'm glad you left. Please don't come back. EVERY single thing you listed is common in every country I've ever been to. If America, and America alone, was as stupid and shallow as you seem to think then we wouldn't be the leaders of the free world. Go ahead and come back with everything you want, but Earth is influenced more by the United States than anywhere else.

The majority of people on this site despise the United States. The majority of people on this site also hate Halo. This website is obviously hardly representative of the total populace. Anyone can sit and complain about things they don't like, and then pack up and run when they are too scared or weak to do anything about it. It takes a bit of initiative and courage to go out and change those things. Go ahead and keep bashing on our country I guess. The majority of my fellow Americans will continue living blessed lives and appreciating how lucky we are. Peace bros.

I have to admit that recent developments in this country have shocked me. I'm struggling to understand where these people came from and who has stolen their brains.

I've decided to stick to the coastal regions.

That's my plan too. Remember, the coasts have BEACH BABES! Something those inland red states will never be able to truly appreciate...:D

I think you don't understand that many of things that you are talking about are characteristic of PEOPLE, not just Americans
