Isn't that contradictory?

Not really. The nation unites fairly strongly when faced by external threads (e.g. look at 9/11).chessmaster1989Then it goes back to being polarized as hell. :(

LOL, the Civil War was anything but little since 600,000 Americans died, higher than the American death toll of both World Wars, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, and the current Afghanistan war combined.Always been divided. Even had this little civil war once.

People have different ideas for what's best for the country. Doesn't mean they aren't nationalistic.

It's pretty simple. There are a lot of people in the US that think they are entitled to all sorts of things from the government. Many of them don't accept personal responsibility for their actions and the outcome. They think they have the right to do anything, and someone else can pay for it.
Then you have people who actually try to do what's right and realize that life and Obama don't owe them anything.

Or how about stopping this divided talk now. Conservatives are the only ones pissing and moaning about the popular vote.PLEASE in three to four month there'll be none of this divided talk for 3+ years. Well maybe if the politicians fight over a bill/amendment that makes the news.

What's up your butt?no America seems to pride it self on only ever coming together to face a common enemy they never work together otherwise.
I keep hearing people who are suffering from the butt-hurt of election day say this but Im confused, who are these people who feel entitled to free stuff and what free stuff do they want from the gov't?It's pretty simple. There are a lot of people in the US that think they are entitled to all sorts of things from the government. Many of them don't accept personal responsibility for their actions and the outcome. Nothing.
Good. You gotta keep that part of your body as clean as possible.I don't know, but it's probably for the best. Strong nationalistic beliefs have rarely if ever lead to anything particularly good as history shows us.

You mean like how liberals had a bug up their butt in 2004, 2000, 1988, 1984, 1980 or any time a Republican won? I guess it's only an issue if the other side does it.PLEASE in three to four month there'll be none of this divided talk for 3+ years. I feel like I have been here before I remember what I was remembering http://www.gamespot.com/forums/topic/26635927/the-indifference-of-fragstains...now-with-100-more-winNationalism doesn't preclude the existence of internal political divisions. In any case, I'm pretty sure that the degree of divisiveness that the U.S. has right now is pretty normal from a historical standpoint. I remember looking at a graph of the distance between the political parties over the years, and what's interesting is that the modern day levels are very similar to the levels prior to World War 2. The War caused the political separation to plummet and over the decades it's been slowly recovering to its "natural level". Without significant foreign threats I don't think the U.S. is going to return to Cold War levels of unity in the forseeable future.
