This is Shakeer Amer, the last British detainee in Guantanamo, he was cleared for release in 2006! and has been waiting ever since to return back to London and see his family, especially his son who he has never met. he and many others have been cleared but they would not allow them to go for they can testify against what has happened in Gitmo.

To be fair, americas use of torture and illegal indefinite captvity, is in breach of the geneva convention and other international law and does indeed spit in the face of the U.S's supposed love of 'Freedom'.

You seem to be under the impression that the Marines at Guantanamo Bay are sadists when they are most likely young men of good character. I believe it requires a very high security clearance to get that posting, much like it requires a very high security clearance to guard nuclear weapons.

So you'll forgive me if I don't think those Marines are beating the shit out of the prisoners. We're a professional military. Not the taliban.
