I'd want to see key people in history, like maybe Jesus.

So many dinosaur people here, but humans are just so more interesting. What we've built and destroyed. I would love to see the wonders of the ancient world like the Colossus of Rhodes, Halicarnassus and the Hanging Gardens.

Around the mid-1900's, just to see how different life would be and everything than just 60 years or so later.

@jasean79: I remember absolutely nothing about Back to The Future, but didn't he go back to his time after that part? If he did, when he saw himself in the future that would be himself after coming back from that travel into the future.

Argh, might as well just do it Doctor Who 's way....it makes no sense but it happened because I'm The Doctor!

Back to the Future Part 2 was all sorts of messed up with regards to its rules. Like, after Biff steals the DeLorean, he never should have been able to go back to 2015 to drop the DeLorean back off. That should have resulted in him going to the ALTERNATE 2015 since he already changed history by giving himself the sports almanac. Therefore, Doc Brown and Marty should have been stranded in the future forever, with Biff having no possible way to bring the DeLorean back to them.

Agreed. That movie left me with more "WTF" moments than anything.

Don't get me wrong, I still like those movies. All I'm saying is that, as time travel movies go, a lot of them are just totally fucked with regard to their internal logic. They say one bullshit thing to push one plot point, then say a totally contradictory thing to push another plot point five minutes later. And the entire time they're just saying, "who gives a shit about consistency? It's time travel. That confuses people, so we can make up whatever crap we want on the fly."

I tend to think that the greatest success is usually accomplished by single timeline movies such as The Terminator or 12 Monkeys or Lost. Once you've only got one timeline to work with, it's easier to fit things together so that you don't introduce glaring inconsistencies. It's a smaller jigsaw puzzle, so it's easier to work with. Your only job is saying "what happened happened", and then making sure that nothing actually gets changed.

I've always wondered what the signing of the Declaration of Independence was like. There's too many choices, but that came first to mind. Probably way boring for most but I'd love to see such history.

Nods to D-Day and Thermopalye.

@MirkoS77: The Declaration wasn't signed at one location. It was secretly carried between signers all over the region, so its less of a defining day and more of a defining document.
