Uhh...Futurama?[QUOTE="Pirate700"]
[QUOTE="Engrish_Major"]I've always hoped for a spin-off instead. Perhaps one of a modern-day simpleton that is magically transported to 1000 years in the future. Or a crime drama with Chief Wiggum that takes place in New Orleans.FrostyPhantasm
That's the exact picture I thought of when I read that. This is what laugh tracks are doing to people. There's no more subtlety.
huh, i was wondering when we would get a channel with nothing but stupid jokes that overstay their welcome...
Come on, it's Fox, is this really a surprise? They're dragging out another season of american idol and will have a major flop with Terra Nova. The X Factor will get one solid season due to Simon and Paula, but after that it'll also go down. Pretty much all the main cable network stations (Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC) havn't been able to come up with a decent show in years. Fox had one in Firefly, and for some reason thought it would be cool to show them out of order (and that wasn't a cheap show to make). ABC just gave up, why else would the have a Charlie's Angels reboot? CBS is basically the king of mediocre crime dramas (though, they pretty much all have at least one). NBC tries, but their shows just aren't overly funny (Whitney looks ok, and the one about community colleges was sort of funny).
Fox is just taking the next logical step of subpar television (not to say the simpsons are bad, but come on, they have to move on).
That being said, I think it's really pathetic, almost as pathetic as George Lucas dedicating his entire life to ruining Star Wars.
