So I think it would be interesting to see where my ancestors came from. I was wondering where I could look to find my family tree. As far as I know, I am 1/4 Polish (assuming my grandmother on my dad's side is full Polish, I know that my great grandmother came to America from Poland) and my grandfather on my dad's side is French Canadian. And upon brief research, it seems he comes from a family that came from France to Canada about a century-and-a-half ago, and then came to America. My mom is nearly all French as far as I know. It's hard to research her side because her last name is fairly common. That's basically all I know. How about you, do you know anything about your family history OT?
I'm Puerto Rican on both sides of my family, both my parents are Puerto Rican on both sides and their parents are too. There's long been talk that somewhere along the line a little bit of Jewish influence slipped into the family but I've never known anything more than that. :lol:
1/2 Irish. The rest is Scottish, English, Native American, and possibly a few traces of other European nations. Both sides of my family have lived in the United States for at the very least 150 years.
One of my ancestors was on the MayFlower (ship) to America. And then another served in the american revolution war, and then another ancestor served in the American Civil war, the next child was half Indian because an Indian got all up in the civil war guy's wife, and then they moved somewhere in American south and then my grandmother moved to southern california around the 1950's. Then i came along sometime in the mid 1990's. Thats just one side of my ancestry. I still haven't said my dads side.

I think you get a 30 day trial of Ancestry.com. As for me, I'm Portugese and German. My dad's parents came from Portugal, and my mom's grandparents are from Germany.
If you go back far enough you will find I'm Messopotamian. My very distant relatives you know came from somewhere in the Iraq area. It's pretty common in 100% of humans.
I'm Irish, German, and a bit Japanese. My dad's side of the family is a mess (literally affair after affair), so German and Japanese are the only ones I know for sure. Apparently there's 1/16% English, but that's the point where it's silly to consider it. :? My mom's side is just Irish and German. My grandmother is full German and my grandfather is full Irish.
I'd love to know anything about my ancestry. Farthest back I know is my great grandmother, and that isn't far back. Unfortunately I don't have the sort of disposable income to pay people to do it for me. Or the know how to do it myself.
Part of my family came from County Down Northern Ireland....half from Wurttemburg Germany. tiny part from Switzerland....and part unaccounted for at present.
Everyone is from Sweden for as far back as can be traced.

Tracing my family tree will be hard. I know I am slightly more Swedish than Norwegian, at least I think so. But my grandpa on my mother side was adopted. That adoption pretty much sets a stop for investigating any further
I think most of my ancestors are welsh with a few english people here and there. Though I think my dad said something about us having black ancestry way down the line, I don't think that's quite what he meant though.
English all the way honey, although blond and blue-eyed could perhaps mean a descendant of some Germanic or Scandinavian invader pre-1000 AD. Who knows...
I'm about 7/8 Maltese and 1/8 Scottish. I don't know how this works though because even though my mum was born in Australia, all her ancestors were born in Malta.
Father: 1/2 Swedish, 1/2 Swiss Mother: 1/2 Swedish, 1/2 Finnish (but they are Swede-Finns) I can trace all of my ancestors back to the point when then immigrated to the USA.
Both sides my family has been in Australia since the First Fleet (1786, I think.) Before that, I'm mostly English and German, with some Irish and Scottish thrown in. That said, I've never done any serious research on the topic.
