Maybe the issue is not the taking away of the cellphone but rather a 15 year old having access to a deadly weapon like a bow?

I've had access to deadly weapons since I was a small child. The difference: I'm not insane.
Should a child have access to a deadly weapon? Every civilised nation outside the US seems to conclude that no, they should not, what makes american minors suitable for the responsibility?Should a child have access to a deadly weapon? I was educated of them and it was clear I had an understanding of what I was being taught. That's just me and I would not trust many other small children with deadly weapons.

Should a child have access to a deadly weapon? Every civilised nation outside the US seems to conclude that no, they should not, what makes american minors suitable for the responsibility? My dad always had tons of guns and bows and whatever around the house. Granted the ammo was kept in different locations. But if I had really wanted to I could of easily gotten it. Heck by the age of 15 I had my own bow and gun I used to target shooting. I didn't get a cell phone though till I got a job and paid for it myself. Kids have no respect and think they are owed everything.
I can agree with that if theres a use for them, im guessing you lived somewhere you needed the weapon to go hunting? I just question whether it's needed in this day and age to educate minors on the use on a weapon that could be used to kill on a whim. I actually see no reason for an adult to need to use one outside of putting meat on the table.SirDigby84Hobby? Target shooting? I dont see the reason not to. If your a responible person then everything is fine. My dad collects guns. Some he shoots targets, some he hunts with, and others are just to have and collect. I can remember plenty times as a kid watching tv on the couch my dad would be in the living room chair cleaning his guns.
you cant spank kids anymore, now its child abuse. When I was growing up, everyone got paddled.Parents these days do not know how to discipline their children properly...the end product is a spoiled, dirty mouthed brat with no correct sense of right and wrong.

Spanking is NOT abuse. I am so tired of these freaking wimpy people always trying to tell other people the right and wrong way to live.

I agree if you tell kids not to bully, why bully them.
Think about the concept of bullying. The bigger kid who can bench press more (usually me) picks on the smaller one(like the fat Asian kid). same with this the child, he/she generally feels defenseless and can't/won't fight back, making it a cowardly attack coming from an older more mature adult, just like bullying. Iam always against a more powerful person picking on a less powerfull one, just because they can.
More of a vindication that teenagers think they're entitled to stuff like cell phones.DroidPhysX
that's because we are, the world revolves around us ya know.
Parents just need to discipline their children better. I wouldn't have laid a finger on my mom if she took my cellphone away.
this is a case of a stupid girl committing a stupid act for stupid reasons abd yes, it's a clear indication that kids nowadays think that they are entitled to have everything and anything they want. I will say it again, kids do not need a cellphone for any reason whatsoever and this dumb girl proves said point.

actually it is, it's physical abuse and has been linked to many many problems; sadism, masochism, increased likelyhood to go to prison, worse preformance in school, increased violence, poor conception of morality, ect. ect. It's sad how misinformed the public is. Go ahead and beat ur kids, u'll just mess them up, and kids that weren't beaten will end up as their bosses.

If anything it needs to be more sensitive, it causes soooo many problems, yet parents continue to beat their kids.Meh, this country has gone WAY to oversensitive with spanking kids.

would it be ok for someone 5x-10x your size/mass to smack you on the behind? better yet, are you promoting smacking your kids around? i mean i joke about it with my friends but i know its unnecesary, i have a friend who's raised 5 kids and hasn't had to spank one yet.

Another reasons why parents shouldn't give their kids whatever the hell they want. Spoiled brat is what she was. ferrari2001Pretty much. The problem now is kids think they deserve certain things at a certain age. It's actually ridiculous how much some kids think they're entitled to.

Necrifer
How?
It causes a bunch of problems; odd sexual practices, preforming worse in school, more likely to end up in prison, shallow sense of morality, physical agression towards others in higher rates just to name a few.It just teaches them that physical aggression is ok, and that u only "don't" do things as long as ur parent is around.
