Being Norwegian and knowing he's likely to never be released, I frankly don't really care if he's given a PS3 or just a Gameboy.
Part of me would of course find a slight delight in him not getting anything that he's requested, however I also do not see the harm in giving him some of the things he's requested. He's seperated from society anyways.
The problem is that caving in to his demands encourages bad behavior.
This is sort of like when a 5 year old kid asks for a new game console. Buy it for him or not, I don't give a shit. But if you say no and then he tries to bully you into buying it by throwing a tantrum, then you DEFINITELY don't buy it for him. If you say no and then you change your mind the second that he starts behaving badly, then you're telling him that bad behavior gets rewarded. And giving people that message can have bad consequences even when the person is locked away in prison. PS3's aren't a right, they're a privilege. The idea is to reward people for good behavior, and to have something to take away when they start behaving badly. That doesn't work when you let them bully you into giving more privileges whenever they behave badly.
