Anime fans, why Lucky Star is so famous?

After the opening I dropped it, same for K-On.

i honestly don't know. both lucky star and the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya are incredibly overrated. at times lucky star is painful to watch for even 5 minutes. sverious

Gonna have to disagree with Haruhi. The combination of school life, comedy and magic/sci-fi was just right for me. Hope they bring out more episodes.

But just so you know i think Full Metal Panic is great as well. :D

As for Lucky Star, can't say ive ever watched it, or i ever will. Ive said this before in another topic but i just can't shake the feeling that this is for girls only. Sorry if i offend anyone but thats just how i feel. :(

I'd never heard of Lucky Star until now. Guess I'm more of an old school anime fan.

What is this "Lucky Star" that the OP speaks of? *looks on wikipedia* I know a lot of people that like Lucky Star to death, but I honestly don't see where the greatness is. There isn't much of a plot to me, judging by just reading it on wikipedia. I think I'll pass this one. Not sure why it is so famous...

People like it because:
