More proof as to how having so much money detaches you from reality. Imagine what happens then when this people are elected to run a country or mange things around the world. Are they running our world or are they running their fantasy world? Each day more I become convinced so much power produces mental atrophy of some sort.

Hey dont forget that Mitt Romney went up the greasy pole all by himself with no help from Daddy, just like Mr Bush got all his credential by his own talents:shock:

"It can be here today gone tomorrow." Don't they have $250 million? :? It takes a considerable amount of skill to lose that so quickly.

Meanwhile, at an event Monday, Romney introduced his wife as "a heavyweight champion" before immediately laughing and correcting himself. "I didn't mean weight," he said. "That didn't come out right. She's just a great fighter is what I mean."

Fantastic.

I would argue NO one has anything against rich people outside of the many who are overly arrogant and out of touch with reality.. Its like the whole Katrina incidient in which some people did not leave their homes and people like Romney understand why.. Thats simple Mr. Romney, they can't hop into their escalades and go to their summer homes.. Because they have neither.

If they have nearly $20 million in disposable income a year, there's not 100,000 people in the world who can say that.

Well now, if she's not wealthy then what are the people who fall well below the Romneys' bracket?

I did some research on this quote, and it was really taken out of context. She said it not to mean that she isnt rich, but that she is humble about her wealth

Here's the full quote:

[O]ne thing this disease has been for me has been a wonderful teacher. And with that comes an ability for compassion for others that are suffering. And for me, I want to make my family bigger. Those that are suffering from M.S. or cancer or any disease I feel like I want to throw my arms open and say, welcome to my family and welcome to the place where I've been and, so, you know, we can be poor in spirit and I don't look — I don't even consider myself wealthy which is am interesting thing. It can be here today and gone tomorrow, and how I measure riches is by the friends I have and the loved ones I have and the people I care about in my life and that is where my values are and those are my riches so for me having done through a difficult period in my life both with M.S. and with breast cancer it has done something to my heart and it's softened my heart and made me realize there are many people suffering in this country and they are suffering from things that aren't financial — and some people are suffering from things that are financial, as well — but those that are suffering, for me, I just have a larger capacity for love, and for understanding."

Its clearly out of context but still, I don't see why people hate on Romney because he has a lot of money. JFK was filthy rich yet he still became one of our greatest presidents. The Kennedy's are filthy rich but no one gives them crap about their money because their liberals.

Reminds me of John Fleming. Complaining that after he has reinvested in his company and fed his family he only has about $400,000 left over.

I'm sure she's humble about her wealth... while spending fortunes on hair-cuts, shoes and purses!

I find it disgusting how it's always the rich people who say "hey money is not that important".

Lol, what a dumbass.

That happens in my country too. One christian congressman who voted to hike up his salary 3 times what he earns today which is already like 7 times what an average person makes while we are in a middle of a crisis and while the government is trying to convince people that we need higher taxes, justified it by saying that he barely has enough for new clothes... I swear this people should be put in jail just for thinking we are so stupid.

Point one: The Romney camps has taken quite a few statements from President Obama out of context and turned them into million dollar commercials.

Point two: Even if this statement was taken out of context, the Romney camp cannot afford too many statements that can used against them, in context or without. Mrs. Romney may be humble, I don't know, but even in context the statement shows that Mitt isn't a member of the 99%.

Haha, I'm just saying, have you thought, maybe, "nobody gives them crap because they're liberals", might have to correlate to liberals strongly supporting higher taxation over the rich? ;)

Wasn't this taken out of context? I'm not sure what the context was, but it would make sense for it to have been so.

Edit: Indeed it was, as has been pointed out in the previous page.

If they don't consider themselves wealthy, they must consider me below desperate-starving-homeless-poverty level.
