Another Black Kid Bites the Dust in a White Suburb.

This time it's a kid by the name of Darius Simmons, a 13 year old boy who was shot by a 75 year old white man named John Henry Spooner, who believed that Simmons was responsible for stealing his belongings. In reaction to the allege theft, Spooner took his shotgun and shot Simmons in the chest in front of his mother.

Strangely enough (well...not really, this is law enforcement after all) the police investigated the Simmons' home prior to the shooting as part of the investigation of Spooner's stolen belongings, only to arrest Darius' brother for truancy lol.

No doubt this is typical racism by the police force, but does this bare any resemblance to the George Zimmerman case?

That's insane. A thief doesn't deserve to be killed. Not that I'm implying that the kid was a thief.

While this is sad and unacceptable, you can't escape the fact that if the ages/races were reversed (a young black kid shooting an old white man in the chest), this would have never made the news.
