Yep makes perfect sense, a guy that looks no older than the high schooler death note writer is the greatest detective in the world.. Whose first theory is its super natural, in a world that is suppose to be similar to ours, in that there are no super natural things happening.. And that is his first theory.sSubZerOo

I haven't seen the anime in a while but I'm pretty sure that he came to the conclusion that Kira was killing people in a way that had never been seen before.

Which makes sense considering he was killing dozens of people in prison (in increasingly bizarre ways) along with the TV broadcast.
