[QUOTE="BranKetra"][QUOTE="sSubZerOo"] It has nothing to do with it being unrealistic, we are talking about the thought process of the character.. In it being extremely absurd. Ever there was ever a over-rated anime, it would be this one..sSubZerOo
He was the greatest detective in the world. I'm not sure if it's right to have expected him to think like everyone else.

Yep makes perfect sense, a guy that looks no older than the high schooler death note writer is the greatest detective in the world.. Whose first theory is its super natural, in a world that is suppose to be similar to ours, in that there are no super natural things happening.. And that is his first theory.

I guess he couldn't explain it any other way, but that could be seen as a cop out.

Haven't really seen Death Note but doesn't L put a criminal on TV saying that he is L and Light kills him immediately? What other explanation was L supposed to come up with? If his limitless logic cannot explain it, then supernatural it is.

I remember that part. That is how he came to the conclusion that the Kira was using supernatural powers.

Read dat Liar Game mango. Makes the mind games in Death Note look like child's play.

I haven't seen the anime in a while but I'm pretty sure that he came to the conclusion that Kira was killing people in a way that had never been seen before.

Which makes sense considering he was killing dozens of people in prison (in increasingly bizarre ways) along with the TV broadcast.
