Sometimes I feel like I am the only one on this website who has faith and holds the creationist model for the genesis of life. I feel almost persecuted with the amount of disdain myself and my family receive from more educated people asserting that our viewpoint is jaded and obsolete, absurd even. So, are there any other Young Earth Creationists on this site for me to share muh views with?

The Bible is not meant literally in regard to time. It's more symbolic....and science seems to date the world much older.

I know people say this but its just not true. The bible is the literal transcription of Gods actions onto paper. All science can be explained with the bible.

But it can't. Science contradicts it. And the Bible was never intended as a science book.

What you call faith is what I see as a denial of reality.

I don't know, I believe God created everything, us, etc...I just don't think the Bible was meant to be used as a Science Book. I think they are referring to the time the bible was written when they say it was 6,000 years old.

I'm not a young earth creationist as your self. I do believe in God and Jesus Christ though. I also believe the Earth to be much older than 6000 years.

No it doesn't. If you trace back the descendants of Jesus all the way down to Adam, its roughly 6000 years.

Finding the earth to be older does not mean one cannot believe in God. The Bible and science....not mutually exclusive.

The Sumerians would probably say that none of that matters, since they were around 2-3 thousand years before that. And that's only one of the older civilizations, we know there were people around before them.

It's a test! God created this planet to appear as older than it actually is so as to trick us/test our faith. It's so obvious!

We all know that science is your God, but your "God" is a false God. Our God, the creationist's God, planted all the contradictory evidence to test our faith... and we've passed the test.

Science was invented after God, you'd do well to remember that.

There were no dinosaurs. The bible says that there were these huge beasts, but they were nowhere near the size of the dinosaurs. My preacher says, that in all probability, either (a) the scientists put the skeletons together wrong or (b) the skeletons are traps laid by satan.

The earth is 6000 years old.

I believe the Bible; however, there are other verses within.

It takes more than 6,000 years for the bodies of dinosaurs to decompose and change into crude oil.

Adam was not here with dinosaurs, and they weren't on Noah's Ark either.:)

For someone who claims to be a creationist, you're pretty bad at it. GOD planted the dinosaur bones to test our faith, not the Devil. The Devil's not that smart.
