Oh, ok, not all of Lacuna Coil's songs have growling (in fact I'm pretty sure only a few of them do).

So, what about Mägo? Why do you think they're weird?

And what's wrong with Nightwish's vocals? They're beautiful, imo. :P If you don't like Tarja's cIassical soprano styIe, you might like Nightwish's new vocalist.

Same for Therion? What's wrong with cIassical singing? :(

I must admit I'm a bit dissapointed that you only liked 3 of them... Oh well, I did what I could. :P

black_cat19
I don't know, I just don't dig classical vocals with metal instruments. Sorry. :P Well I'll just try to find more that sound like Entwine. :)

Wait, there's growling in Unspoken by Lacuna Coil??? :?

And how was Mago de Oz weird? I might be able to show you a song by them you like better than El Paseo de los Tristes. :P

Dude, you hit the jackpot with Entwine. They're awesome! :D

Yay! :P

So you liked Sentenced and Sinamore, and you LOVED Entwine... You, my friend, are a Gothic Metal guy, I don't know why but I kind of figured that'd be the case. :P I just remembered another band you might like, Lacrimas profundere.

And did you check out the link for Nightwish's new vocalist?

Well I like them... Minus the whole depressing lyrics. :P Did you check my first page with the vocalists? That may help you find me some more bands. :P And no, I haven't checked that link yet. Listening to Carol of the Bells- August Burns Red.

Well depressing lyrics are something you'll find a lot in Metal... But since you liked those bands (and also, I forgot Lacuna Coil), Gothic Metal is your kind of Metal.

Ah, I love gothic/symphonic metal, but it can be so hard finding a song not centered around death. >___>

Well lyrics don't matter to me at all, so I don't have a problem with that. I don't really get what's so bad about it, after all, you're listening to music, not reading a poem (lyrics), right? :P

Actually, if I don't like the lyrics, I discard the song altogether. . . which can really suck, as I've seen some songs with the most kickass music ever, but bad lyrics/vocals.

But lyrics aren't even music. :(

Besides, what good does it do to you to discard great songs just because you don't like what's being said? What good can come of it? You must have a rather limited selection of bands/artists you like.

Yep. And among those bands/artists, only a limited selection of their songs that I like. I honestly don't own an entire album from any artist, even RED.

I prefer this song.

There is the smallest hint of growling during "Esperitus," but if I, a man who despises growling, can still love this song, anyone can.

Some of their growl-free songs are Angels,  Memories, Frozen, and Stand my Ground.

Try Cowboys From Hell by Pantera, get some Dream Theater...Pull Me Under is easy to get into them with, not their best though. I can't think right now.

Well based on your recommendations like August Burns Red (metalcore) and Saosin (screamo), you may want to try the genres of Nu Metal and hardcore/metalcore. Both have...clean vocals but more simplistic instrumental elements than straight up metal bands. Try some power metal and progressive metal as well.

I'm disheartened to see no one mentioned Disillusion. I honestly thought posters on here were better than this. Listen to their album "Back To Times of Splendor", their other album "Gloria" is a like or hate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWEAYDGwcmo&feature=related

Iced Earth is one of the few non-growling metal bands I can tolerate. Along with Iron Maiden, I consider them leagues above previously mentioned bands.

Same except I can listen to music where I'm neutral on the lyrics. But I usually do like songs more if I like the lyrics.

All the old metal bands people suggested are about the best your going 2 get. Nowadays there r so many diferent generes of music it's hard 2 tell what is what.

Right now i'm listening to System of a Down, Slipknot, Disturbed and Cradle of Filth.

Some people think Dream Theater's singer sounds like a girl.... I disagree, but he doesn't scream much.blackngold29

Yes but LaBrie can;t really sing.

If you want some real prog metal with heavy guitars and solos but melodic singing, try out Queensryche, Savatage, or Threshold. Those are some LIFE-CHANGING bands right there.
