Same, I've tried to listen The Beatles multiple times and they don't appeal to my musical tastes... Only song I've heard that I find enjoyable is "Hey Jude".

Not true. They have done plenty on todays music scene. I have seen plenty of interviews, including Between The Buried and Me and Drop Dead, Gorgeous, saying that Blink-182 was a huge influence for them.

That was more of a joke then anything. To be completely honest, for as many pretty cool scene kids I have met, there have been just as many petty, self-absorbed ones (I'm talking the ones that complain about EVERY FRICKING THING and post silly pictures of themselves looking sad from XTREME ANGLES). I am really glad this whole genre is a fad that will fade as today's kids grow up out of adolescence and mature a bit.

I don't listen to music solely because of the instrumentals. I listen to August Burns Red for the instrumentals, not the vocals or the lyrics. Instrumentals move the industry, yes, but not in every field in the music industry. Well written lyrics and vocals drive the music industry foward just as much, if not more, then instrumentals.
