I think I'm too old. I just never got the excitement about anime in the first place. Maybe it's a cultural thing or something, but I don't like it.
I never liked anime to start with.

this, all though I like that Helsing Series. Everything else makes you feel kind of like a creep to watch...
I don't watch any of the new crap. I only like the old ones like DBZ, Lupin, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun and Inuyasha. I use to watch those all the time back when Adult Swim was still good.Y2Jfan23We will probably never see anime like that again, sadly.
I hate the direction that most Anime is going which is whoring out the female characters as much as possible while ignoring either the action aspect or story aspect of their Anime.
I agree. There's too much ecchi in anime these days. -_-I hate the direction that most Anime is going which is whoring out the female characters as much as possible while ignoring either the action aspect or story aspect of their Anime.

Love Comedy anime sells, just like movies.
It's mostly a fad right now, just like how sports and action manga/anime were popular 10-15 years ago. Anyways I've a fan of quite a few of them, not because of the "story" or the comedy I watch it for the character interactions.
I mean old and some newer animes like FMA, DBZ, Deathnote, and all that are some good ones but a lot of the new ones are all about a bunch of whores and their perverted boyfriends....any thoughts?CHOASXIII
Protip: stay away from shounen anime and you'll see the quality:noise ratio improve greatly. It's mostly pandering moe garbage anyway.
It's not all terrible..just most of it. Though you did mention DBZ, which throws your own tastes into question in my mind :P
This next season looks pretty lame, but I'll try checking out what I can. I'm only genuinely looking forward to "Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei" and "Rainbow." If everything turns out to be bad, I'll be stuck with "Katanagatari"..which is only doing monthly releases -_-
Watch the first 4 minutes of this episode of Gintama. They demonstrate my biggest problem with long-running popular animes in hilarious fashion. :P

Nice clip, damn true.
I just don't understand how people can watch that stuff. They basically shovel massive heaps of generic and recycled "plot" at viewers to buy time for the "decent" content (if you can call it that; it's better than filler, at least) to get created by the author, and yet people gobble that mess up like it's the best thing in the world. Then a short time later, they do it again.
Even regarding the non-filler: I find it hard to believe that there are FULL GROWN MEN in the United States who LOVE this bland garbage. I even saw a dude who had to be in at least his late 30s walking around in public wearing a Naruto headband a couple months ago. I wonder if he heard me laughing.
It's like a disease in the fandom. I don't get it. How can people enjoy that stuff beyond maybe Middle/High School age? I know everyone has different tastes, but Jesus, expand your goddamn horizons or something, son. And take off that stupid headband while you're at it.

Have you read the manga? It's better than the anime.I only like the short ones. When I realized how much back story was left out of the TV series for Trigun, I decided to stop watching anime also. (I also noticed how creepy some of the major anime fans get.)

I watch pretty much everything I can get my hands onto as long as its not shoujo. That stuff is so boring and the art is terrible, but i guess its not supposed to appeal to me. If your looking for more mature stuff, I would recommend Black Lagoon. i just finished it and it is AWESOME!wolverine4262
Screw you man, there's a few decent shoujo anime out there (and no, I do not mean stuff like Sailor Moon.)
"Lovely Complex" and "Bokura Ga Ita" spring to mind (the latter is sort of loldrama though. Former is a bit more accessible as a romantic comedy, I quite enjoyed it. Check out Lovely Complex if you get the chance, then try the other if you like it.)
"Kimi ni Todoke" is a good one that just ended, though it feels perhaps a little more "girly" than the ones above. Some people complain about the art, but I think it's pretty good.
"Skip Beat" is supposedly great, but I haven't given it a fair shot yet because the art is just hideous (I'm sure I can get over it, will get around to watching it eventually.)
They better make "Dengeki Daisy" into a goddamn anime. Reading the manga and it's beyond awesome.
I really can't get into Josei, though. Found all of the series I've tried so far to be straight-up boring. Mostly watch/read Sienen, though I can enjoy certain shounen/shoujo series.
WOAH! Im open to anything bro...I actually just got kimi ni todoke, but I havent started watching it yet....Lovely Complex sounds EXTREMELY familiar, I think I dumped it after a few minutes but that was a long time ago... Im actually REALLY into manga right now (although I went through 3 animes this week >_>). I just discovered Mysterious Girlfriend X...Screw you man, there's a few decent shoujo anime out there (and no, I do not mean stuff like Sailor Moon.)

There's still tons of great new anime as long as you know what to look for.
Some of my favorite anime have only come out in the last year or two actually.
