Anyone else feel like the U.S. government has fallen to a new low?

Forget everything else. We're in a financial crisis, people are losing jobs and everything and what is Congress worried about?

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. I always knew our government was run by people who don't care about the people at all, but this just stepped over the line. It's a slap in the face to millions of Americans.

In my home state (NY) people just voted Democrat down the board. For crying out loud, Charles Rengel got reelected. Thats ridiculous. The guy who wrote the tax code, THEN CHEATED ON THEM, gets reelected.

Now I don't mind if people vote Democrat, I've done it, but vote for somebody because who your voting for is a person of integrity who wants to serve the people, not because of their party affiliation. And when they don't do their jobs, we should be holding them accountable when they're up for reelection. I'm not saying everyone be an activist or anything like that (lord knows I am not), but just know about who your voting for when its time to pull the lever.

Absolutely. Everyone knows how to fix the US's financial problems EXCEPT for the people who's job it is to do so. If we had more well-informed voters, I think that would be a great start.LikeHaterade

Finding an alternative is positively the BEST use of their time, and I'm not kidding.

Everything in America is wrong. This is still a great country but:

1) If the Governor of Illinois was a Republican, there would have been a big fat (R) next to his position when featuredon the news, but since he is DFL, the media will not mention this at all. I know this isn;t relevant though, but that seems to be the way news works now.

2) Some people did not know why they were voting for him. The media only seemed to be talking about what McCain was doing wrong.

3) One word..... CONGRESS!

Now I am just going to say, I did not like either candidate in this election. They both had shaky ideals and I felt like both weren't right for America. However, I am standing behind our new President and will see how he does. He may help us, he may not. But if the first thing he does in office is try to get the Olympics in Chicago, then he needs to seriously re-sort his priorities.

Not true in the slightest bit. When John Rowland (former governor Connecticut and a republican) resigned due to corruption, I constantly saw him on the news but never saw a big fat (R) next to his name all the time.

That has more to do with McCain running a horrible campaign than with the media being biased.
