ever think that if you're having the same issues everywhere you go that the problem may be more with yourself than anything else?....Omni-SlashHowever we have kids in fraternities talk about cheating on tests openly (while I am sitting next to them), and I am not the best test taker but atleast I accept my failures. Then there are the elite clubs or whatever that are picky about members.
I wouldn't say I hate mine.
Going to a different one in the fall 'cause I'm having trouble meeting people and am going to switch faculties anyway.
Not really the university's fault thoughh.. Just me having trouble getting into things and stuff. Also being at the end of the day tired and taking the bus across town in order to rest, so I figure I have less opportunities to talk to people (o:
Stop being a Beta.....no scratch that a Gamma and join a frat house or something man. I can't see how college aged kids are "picking on" someone like it's grade school. You sound like a paranoid kid to be honest. xXDrPainXxSo people magically stop messing with you once you are an "adult", **** imo they just do it differently. They are not as blatant about it but their definately is ridicule.

I highly doubt your entire student body is mind fuucking you dude. Obviously some asses will always be asses but to blatantly say nothing has changed since high school I'm calling shenanigans on that since most people are choosing to go to school instead of being made to go. You might need to check yourself off and see where your priorities are at.

The only person I have met who has been nice to me here is this girl who lets me sit by her in the back in my astronomy class but she looks at me like I am weird sometimes and I sit with a chair between us. What do you mean check yourself?[QUOTE="fueled-system"]I actually did not, my parents did because we could not afford for me to live in dorms and I do not have a car.If they are paying then you should stop complaining and be thanking your parents because College is expensive...You picked the College go transfer if your so upset..

I am paying out of my bank account... I am grateful to my parents because they gave me a good start I just wrecked it and blew all my opportunities. My parents certainly deserve a better son than I and I wish I could be better, I am not blaming anyone. Its just I am pissed.[QUOTE="Ajivas"][QUOTE="fueled-system"]

Yeah I really dislike my Uni, I have considered quitting many times.
I feel like I wasted my time in college too, but it's free so at least I wasn't wasting any money :P
Haha, you're lucky. Do you have a fully paid scholarship? Also what keeps you from quiting? For me its my parents, I feel if I quit they will be ashamed of me and view me as a quitter/failure.Yeah I really dislike my Uni, I have considered quitting many times.

It's easy for me. No, I do not hate my college. I LOVE where I go to school. None of the staff are jerks, the kids are all the nicest people I've personally met, the grounds are very nice, the buildings are nice... there is nothing to really hate about where I go.
I can say I hate the work, but what college student doesn't?
People tell you how college is supposed to be better than Highschool or whatever and that things get better if you do not kill yourself.Ajivas
Well this got dark really fast. >_>
Anyway, it's a love/hate relationship for me and the hate aspects are all issues with myself and not the university.
Please explain the "intellectual condescension" and "mind f-ing" going on. It sounds like you're just upset you didn't get accepted into a frat or something.thegergWell generally the responses and looks I get from other people. I realize that I am an easy person to hate or whatever but I do not like all the preferential treatment some students get. Also I never applied for a frat. I do not drink alcohol mainly because I can not afford to lose any brain cells haha.

Nope, college here is free.
No, if I did I'd simply transfer to another university. If you really dislike yours you might want to consider it.
This would be my fifth week into Uni.
I wouldn't say I hate mines.. but it's such a trek going there.
I have no love for mine, but I would agree that modern academics is a joke (as it relies about 90% on rote learning), especially undergraduate studies. As for the extra-curricular part of university, I never cared for any of that stuff, even in high school. I just go to class, take notes and go straight home. All of my friends have different schedules so I dont socialize much at university. But if you live in residence (im assuming you do), then could see how that extra curricular stuff might matter.

College isn't free anywhere, you're just not the one being billed.I don't pay for it, therefore it's free.

You didn't pay for my car, that doesn't mean it was free.If you gave it to me then it would be

Sure there is, no one ever said there wasn't,what disappears are the big groups which allow certain people to be in the popular crowd and other people not. At uni the pool of people is much larger and people know others who are not at the same uni, this means you can have people going to the same uni who have never heard of each other. You could have no friends in your class and still be the most popular person there. If you want to do well at uni you have to realise that you're going to have to be independent, this means not relying on societies and clubs, not needing babysitting by your lecturers and not giving a **** what other people think.

It's most likely the ones who make the mainstream college atmosphere and discussion.
I actually like it, but some really amazing professors have left the Political Science department.
Still, the remaining staff are great.
Also, having your University be in the middle of a forest is neato.
