I've been modded a few times for stupid things. And I had a one-week suspension for posting a Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows spoiler. I didn't read the sticky and got a suspension.
I have been modded 4 times in the last 2 days by mods that have nothing better to do. If you read this post and it's suddenly not there, you'll know whats happened.
Hmm havent been modded for a while, got banned twice and reinstated though, think they were a misunderstanding, because I got suspended for a week, then a few days after being back I got a ban right out if the blue. But reactivated by admins twice, but I havent been modded in so long, just have to not say anything stupid anymore I guess.
I got modded yesterday for participation in the "nastiest thing you have ever seen" thread. Usually I'm pretty careful with what I write but I guess it was just a moment of stupidity to think that posting in that thread was ok lol. Are they permanent or do they expire? :P
No ha, although I think I've been modded more in the past 3 or 4 months than I was all of last year. I don't often get suspended either, most of my mods were just warnings or point losses.

Yup, like I said, it says "FINAL WARNING" beside the moderation. I do have quite a few moderations though. I seem to get them for the slightest of things.
No. I got a couple of suspensions when I first became active in SW (in fact one post started out, "I'm sure I'll be suspended for this, but.....". I've been on here for around 4 years and I'm still on my first page of moderations, and my last few have been minor and only resulted in a warning.

You can't really brag about something that's purely negative, especially when the end result will destroy the user's account. It's like bragging about having Hemorrhoids-- it's just not something that's worth getting excited over.

If an account has a lot of moderations that are spread out, or a cluster of moderations in a short span, sometimes we put a note in the mod history saying something like 'history of ______ - final warning' meaning the next moderation of a certain type (trolling, etc) will be their last. The whole point of moderation is to reform posting habits, so if someone continuously is getting moderations for the same thing, they aren't learning and they aren't serving the community in any way.

That's not fair. You're really trying to say that the negative outweighs the positive, not that it's ONLY negative.It depends. I don't know of any people that are on their final legs in terms of getting banned that are a positive force in the community.
One thing to add re: Final Warning. Final Warning status CAN be revoked if the person who got the final warning has an extensive period of good behavior/demonstrates that they are reformed. I've read through the thread and a lot of the talk seems to be that a ban is inevitable once a final warning is given. It relies on the assumption that eventually the person who got the final warning is going to slip up and get the 'ole heave ho. That isn't really the case. Yeah, you're definitely in "at risk" status, but you can still mend your ways and your posting habits and step off the ledge with a few months of good behavior so to speak.

Have you ever been to school? Remember the lads who were always getting into trouble and annoying the teacher? They're always quite popular as well - they show off about getting into trouble because it's seen as cool. Same thing here, TC thinks he's a badass or something.

I'm fairly certain I'm on a "Final Warning" here. I had a MOD get furious with me because I spoke to him like an adult, rather than grovel at his feet like most people in the ATM Forum do.
The effort to sanitize GS borders on lunacy. This is the only forum I've been modded this much, most of which for laughable reasons. Far too many snitches here too.

I don't know of any people that are on their final legs in terms of getting banned that are a positive force in the community.Well in my case, I would like to think I can be a positive force in the community, its just that the majority of my moderations are times where I just get caught up in heated debates and I say something stupid, like addressing a user as opposed to the text in their post. How worried should I be?
I kinda wish GS would automatically delete some of the less severe moderations after about a year or maybe eighteen months, if there are no more violations.. Of course, the more severe moderations would have to stay permanetely.
There are other factors than just a # of moderations...Registration date, number of posts, etc. If someone has 10k posts and 10 moderations over 2 years, that's a non-issue entirely. If someone has 100 posts and 10 moderations in a month, they will most likely not even get a final warning in their mod history and just get banned. There isn't like a set rule for this or anything.
