I bought a new computer back in may with vista installed on it, and at first it ran fine, but now it always has lots of problems. I am wondering if it is just Vista or something in my computer. It just does really weird things, like i can't have a webpage open for hours at a time because if i try to open up other stuff it won't open, and lots of other weird things happen as well. Also of course barely no video games work on it, only about 2 games have worked good on my computer and I've tried about 10 games all together. Does anyone else have problems with Vista?

No problems with vista for me! Of course that might be because I don't have vista on my computer.....

I actually love Vista, I would never go back to XP. What are the specs on your computer?

Well theres your problem I dont think you'll be playing any grades with that bad video card. You'll have to upgrade that. What games are you trying to play?

Hmm, well i've tried battlefield 1942 but it won't work online at all. I tried Grand theft auto vice city and it works for a bit but then freezes up and i have to exit out of it. I've tried the battlefield 2 demo but it freezes up a lot. I've tried medal of honor allied assault and it wont even start. So yeah all those won't work.

I'm thinking it's more of a memory issue, 1GB isn't much for Vista. I ran it as a virtual machine w/ 1GB RAM and it was a total pain in the neck, but it ran fine when I booted into it and used my 2GB of RAM. Those webpage issues don't sound like video card issues to me, I can run it on an integrated graphics card without any problems. As far as compatibility....yea...deal with it. I'm running XP Pro along with Vista so I can still use my CAD and circuit design software. I don't play games on my computer so I don't know about game performance w/ Vista.

I don't use Vista very often, but it seems reasonably reliable to me. I know this is a pain, but what about reinstalling it?

I am having trouble with it. Specifically 2 things. One, it takes around 3 minutes after windows has loaded for me to log in to the desktop. Two, for some reason, "Windows can't search for updates."

CSS runs a little slower than I'd prefer, but everything else works perfectly.

For every game your trying to run, right click the icon on the desktop. Go to the tab that is compatibility, check the box that says run in compatibility mode for Windows XP, then finally check the box that says run as administrator.

If you can't open some files, right click the file, and click: Run as Administrator.
