Can anyone here recommend me any software that will allow me to make animation cartoons.

Now mind you.. I have limited drawing skills, My strengths are more in the drawing of buildings, cars, furniture... structures that are mainly inanimate. It takes me longer to draw animals and people but I heard there are applications with human and animal models already provided...all I would have to do is move the limbs to any position I desire then take a picture of each move I performed.Example of Man running: * Move legs and arms * take Snap shot * move limbs again * take Snap shot * move limbs again *Snap *, Etc... Is there software that will allow me to make animations without having to draw the human and animal figures? I don't mind drawing the skin and clothing onto the models / skeletons, I just have little patience with the perspective details in drawing figures in action (free hand).

Thanks in advance

Autodesk, Maya or 3d Max, that's what you want, They are VERY difficult programs though, animation is Very hard.. I recommend reading some tutorials first.

Thanks, I'll look into those, I can draw a person punching, kicking, jumping ...just about all moves but it takes me a while. I'm really trying to cut corners.

He's looking for a 2D program... And if he was just to do it for fun, he's much better off using Blender.

Not that, Blender is like Maya or Autodesk execpt open source, I was saying if he was looking for a 3D program he would be better off with that. I've heard a program like the TC is looking for but I can't remember where I saw it. My advice would be to just browse download.com until you find something.

I never heard of Blender but I will check that out too because I'm interested in both 2D and 3D. I will also peep at download.com now that I have a hint to what I'm looking for. Thanks again guys.

I also recommend Blender.

I made this within a couple of days of learning the program, and if you read the tutorials, it's pretty easy.

Also, Flash is a good 2D animation program.

Blender is looking really interesting.Do anybody knows what type of rig i will need to run a program like this. Lets say i wanted to do a full hour animation and save it. (including voice overs). I know the memory is going to be off the meters but what about the processor speed, ram and graphics card?

Gee, I can always get great info from this board.
