Oh God I used to LOVE those books! I read them from 2nd grade throughout all of Elementary school. I remember making a big deal out of my reading them because they were suppossedly 6th grade level books, but I started reading them at a much younger age.

My favorites were How To Kill a Monster (shame this one didn't get mentioned yet!), Welcome to Horrorland, Werewolf of Fever Swamp, Night of the Living Dummy (I think that is the proper title), The Beast From the East, A Shocker on Shock Street, and Attack of the Jack-O-Lanterns.

As for the choose your own adventure ones, I only read Escape From the Carnival of Horrors and Night in Werewolf Woods and both were absolutely awesome!

[QUOTE="Strider_91"]What was everyones favourite title?LastCaveMan

How I Learned To Fly

That was a pretty good one, but i didnt like how it ended. like i didnt like how the kid just gives up on trying to out-do that one jerk. like the entire book the antagonist is one-uping the main character, and once he gets his chance to get him back he just gives up.

my favorite titles are the night of the living dummy ones. those were the only ones that genuinelscared me.

I always thought they looked really dumb. I read John Bellairs when I was a kid...there's some scary-ass children's literature for you.

I used to be a member or something that would send me a new three goosebump books every month alone with a goosebumps poster so I ended up collecting them all. I absolutely loved all the Monster Bloods and My Invisible Friend. Great stuff. The TV show was superb as well! :D

Yes, I remember reading one where you made the choices and it had alternate endings. I kept dying so I stopped reading it.

I loved the Goosebumps show's episode more than the books. reason why

1. Sting was in an episode that involved some kid that his lies came to truth or something

2. Shia The Beef as the kid with the evil dummy

I used to love those books, I actually still own quite a few. They're all packed away in a box I have in my closet, maybe I should read 'em all again soon. I remember that Welcome to Dead House, The Haunted Mask, and The Werewolf Of Fever Swamp were my favorite ones.

one thing always bothered me about the "night of the living dummy" books. Everytime slappy is defeated and thrown out, why dont the protagonists burn the card that had the magic words (the ones that bring slappy back to life in every book)? I mean yeah, they probably think they killed him for good, but why take the chance of having him return? just burn the card or something and slappy will be dead forever >:)

I never read the books, but I loved the show. That dummy used to scare the **** out of me. My favorite episode was where Adam West played some superhero named Armadillo Man or something, and a fat kid got superpowers, well, I think that's what happened.

As a kid, goosebumps never really scared me (horror novels don't really do the trick), but does anyone remember that novel with the headless ghost in the house? I think that kept me up a few nights. That one Goosebumps book shook me down to my soul.

Sharpie125
:lol: I remember that I had a nightmare of that novel

I read the Goosebump series when I was a kid, I owned just about every book of the series when I was a kid.
