Anyone remember the times when you had to wait for someone to get off the phone?

This is sort of the Mid 80"s era

I wonder if people have to go threw that still..hmm, strange thought......but I'm strange ....so ya..

It was a little frustrating back then, waiting for your family members to finish their phone conversations just so you could call a friend to tell him to come over. I think and hope those days are past us all. It was painful.

Oh yes I remember. My mom could talk for hours on the phone.

When cellphones became normal.. Back when Nokia 3210 and 3310 were the newest and best, I told my friends to simply call me on cellphone, as the home phone were usually taken.

Nokia 3210 and 3310 hahaha, amazing . That post right there just made those 2 phones relative again. Dinosaurs now, wow. Thanks for the nostalgia boost.

Near the end of landlines run, late 90s, I was in college and had to run to Walmart once a week to buy a prepaid phone card, in order to call family and friends, long distance.

I remember it, and I don't miss it. I didn't get DSL until 2003. I remember plugging the Dreamcast modem into my phone line so I could surf the Internet until I actually got a computer.

well, now you wanna talk to someone but thanks to cellphones they're so distracted, either texting, checking the internet or are on their Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, or taking phone calls at inappropriate times

Not only that but the phone was in one room, usually the kitchen. Try having phone sex while your mom is making a casserole. Not impossible but awkward as hell.

I don't remember waiting.... I remember severing my sisters' calls with a modem, apologizing, and then picking up the phone while she yelled at me.

I'm a guy. I make 60 second phone calls twice a week. A 2 minute break in a multi-hour conversation is fine.
