I think a lot of people take this question for granted because they were born in wealthy countries where many social programs are made available to the public. There are many scenarios where somebody is born into a situation that is hopeless regardless of any choice they make. People don't choose to be born in certain areas of the world, or come down with terminal illness.
Mostly everything that happens to us is determined by the environment we are born into and the genetic traits we inherit, which is not a choice or an act of free will. Certain situations provide for better oppurtunity than others.
Certain people are destined to a bad life. That's reality. Anybody that thinks choice over comes all, is deluding themselves. On a individual level there are numerous no win scenarios in the universe for organisms.
Life's what you make of it. The fact that people have to go so far as to bring up starving kids in Africa as an example of someone who doesn't have a choice just highlights how pitiful it is for somebody in a developed country, posting on the internet, to be complaining about how their failure in life is predetermined.

If you're going to address my comment, then at least have the balls to do it directly. Why are you bringing me into what I'm saying and making such baseless assumptions? I'm making a point, not comparing myself to another who is less fortunate.
Grow a pair and come at me directly, or not at all.
