Anyone else noticed this? Earlier this year no one but me it seemed like was a republican but now it seems everyone is. What about you?

when i joined, it was something like 50% democrat, 50% republicans
now it's 20% democrat, 20% republican, 60% "centrist"
i base this, of course, on absolutely nothing

Ah, very scientific. I'd say most have their own views though. Well, at least the ones that post in political threads.
Of course not, gamespot will always be centre-left, but the outspoken ones on both sides, particularily the right make it seem otherwise.

...Which OT have you been in? Conservatives are almost never more outspoken than liberals.
i voted 3rd party mostly during the past 2+ decades, with exception to 08 when i supported ron paul.but i still ended up voting 3rd party in the end since it was mccain who got the vote.i have never considered myself republican but i don't mind voting that way if the person plans to abolish the federal reserve and go with less intervention overseas.
I'm not really either since I'm not an American but I am Liberal. I feel as if perhaps for Americans there are more right wing people but gamespot isn't just Americans...Ace6301there are places other than America with internet? Its nice that we can share this experience with these other places.

Well, with the departure of snipes, I suppose so, but I'd say the big conservatives in here are quite outspoken.

When looking through one side of the glass you tend to pay more attention to the other side. I would say in debates it's about even. Not to be off-topic, but i've always lol'd whenever i hear the phrase "rabid liberal"OT will always be rabidly liberal.

I don't know....I can name more liberals than conservatives in OT. And that's just going by "big" names. :P

nothing is freeI would hope not. Obama is not a God, just a man, so don't blame him for not working miracles in such a (relatively) short time.

I say it to make people laugh. :P
Some things are noble, but you want to control people's lives much more than you want to leave them alone. That's why I oppose almost all liberal policies.
Weird, because I oppose almost all conservative policies for the same reason.I say it to make people laugh. :P

You can't be against gay marriage, the option of abortion, legalized drugs, the PATRIOT act, anti stem cell research, the ground zero mosque, et cetera, and still say you're against controlling peoples' lives.
i'm not saying that you agree with all of these stances
I assume that the policies that you say are controlling peoples' lives are the financial policies of liberals (more regulations on corporations, et cetera)
Being against this, quite frankly, doesn't make sense once you take into consideration that corporations can also control your life.
.... Not even close. Some conservatives are more vocal here than before, but OT will probably always lean liberal.MAILER_DAEMON
I agree with this.

That's why we have hardly any debating going on.
I sure hope so, or at least libertarian. I'm tired of seeing this place infested with liberals....no offense. :P
I haven't seen too many people jumping ship, so I doubt it. Granted, I have no objective metrics to quantify this in any way, but I haven't noticed much of a difference from the norm. Off-topic leans a tad to the left. I can't say that it bothers me, since I already know what I know, think and believe, but would like to gain some insight as to how others do.
Least your party has some organization. A libertarian party is near impossible to form because that 60% anarchists would be making hypocrites of themselves if they joined. That, and libes think we're just as fanatical. Keep it real friend.Alas, I have not noticed this trend. Every time I voice my right-wing fanatical ideas on these forums:roll:, I'm met with strong opposition.

Have you ever thought it wasn't because it was a right wing idea, but just because it was wrong?Alas, I have not noticed this trend. Every time I voice my right-wing fanatical ideas on these forums:roll:, I'm met with strong opposition.

I am compelled to state my disagreement with this patently absurd notion that sixty percent of libertarians are anarchists. The problem, is that there are too damned few of us to form a viable party.
I believe people feel more comfortable expressing their opinions now more than ever. I still only see 2-3 conservatives verses 5-6 liberals on most threads. I stay out of the political threads but I'd say I'm a moderate Republican.

You need to be more specific if you want to slap the title of "wrong" on me.

My stances mellow out the more I understand the issues. Always learning, every single day. When things have a chance of harming me, that's when I start to really get bothered.
Yes, I do oppose liberals on almost all financial policies. For one, raising taxes on everything(letting the Bush tax cuts expire, and cap and trade) during a recession is a bad idea.
Corporations aren't controlling my life right now. What more regulatory measures do they need? We strangle business enough in this country, and that's my main problem with liberal policy. Too much feel good for certain people, not enough for everyone.

Bush tax cuts are for the rich, and would save 700 billion dollars. Also, it has caused a trillion dollars of the deficit. Not to mention that rich people dont go through a "recession". And where did you hear that taxes are being raised on everything? Many things have had tax cuts if I am not mistaken. And just because corporations arent controlling your life doesnt mean that they dont for others. Please Log In to post.
