Are The Mods Doing A Good Job? (Poll)

What do you guys think of the job the mods are doing? I think that they nearly always target the wrong people, but when they get it right they aren't too bad...

I'm talking about the mass banning and suspension of perfectly decent users for ridiculous reasons. At first I was like, "okay...that's unfortunate and a little strange, but now people know that they shouldn't do that"...but the amount of users banned and the reasons behind bannings have just grown more and more ridiculous since then.

Did you hear that Smashbroslegend was banned for advertising in his own profile? Banned...at least they could have given him a warning before banning his +10,000 post account.

And no, this has nothing to do with the ToU, since it's the mods who're supposed to decide the punishment.

Im gonna have to agree here.

I think a lot of the mods are just stoked to have the ban hammer really. They lock threads that are very similar to the ones ive seen them make too, which is kind of annoying.

Hell of a job.

I think they are doing a good job of enforcing the the ToU. I dont think anyone should complain about getting modded because all you have to do is read the ToU and know whats allowed or not allowed. Its that simple.RenegadePatriot

Although real mods are still infinitely better than wannabe ones....

They are trying but there is room for improement. It seems that sometimes they are to tough. I have also noticed a lot of posters(myself included) get away with posting things blatantly out of line, but they can't see every post so we should start using the report feature. But they should still take more time and see what they are moderating. It also would be nice if more of them posted, but I don't blame them its annoying haing people try to make you put up with their crap in every thread.Mercenary848

no the mods are horrible because I once called someone a "noob" and a "moron" in a forum and got a point loss for it.........lol if thats considered bad I'd hate to think how many people get banned in forums.tenczas9

Well that is flameing they had every right to mod you, I have seen some sights where you can be banned on the spot for it.

I know but that is why I said they should give more thought to what they moderate. Although I have seen times when reporting doesn't do anything to posters that deserve it.

Pft.....I have an account I created out of joke in RC. I was posting on it....very low level and someone called me a noob....now since my main account was much higher I made the comment that he was more of a noob than I...with the ;) as a joke. I got modded for that. Ironically, mine was a joking response and his was the flame. I got the moderation....he did not.LJS9502_basic

In that case you got screwed over for trying to be funny which was a mods mistake, but just wondering some sites don't show other peoples moderations did your post get deleted and his did not.

It isn't the mods fault the ToU sucks. They are upholding the rules very well, it's just the rules themselves are so vague and mindbogglingly stupid that it just seems like the mods fault.foxhound_fox

If that's true then mods are unnecessary. They ARE PERMITTED to moderation violations they see on their own. I had his quote in my post...which they def saw since they modded my account.:|LJS9502_basic

Has anyone ever been out in the real world? The way they moderate seems like they're treating us as 5 years olds that have never been outside. Walk a lap in a high school hallway and you'll hear about 20x worse than this....come on now. Some of us need to grow up a tad :p
