I don't enjoy movies where people are locked up in a chamber and tortured lol, but I don't mind seeing it if it's "fun". Are these movies fun along with being gory, or are they just gory and not enjoyable?
Saw - Very good, one of the best modern horror movies I've seen Saw 2 - Fair, better than most crap out there, but not great. Saw 3 - Really enjoyable, Almost as good as the first
They're stupid movies. You'll enjoy them if you enjoy pointless gore and torture. Other than that, there's nothing but a flimsy story covered with a cheap philosophy to try and give it some ... "sophistication" I guess. Then some people walk out going "Oh my god, that movie was the best movie ever, it had such a good moral!". :roll:.
I love them because it's just such a taboo thing and I enjoy the movies. The problem is that people way overanalyze them and try to rip them apart. Just watch the movies if you want something enjoyable. If you're looking to write a dissertation, look elsewhere.
The first one's alright. It's got a good premise, and excecutes fairly well, aside from a few things that aren't quite believable. The others have strayed from the plot and focused on the traps. Sure, the traps are clever...and the twists are good, but the rest of the story is just a segway to get from one torture sequence to the next.
The first one is one of the best horror movies, and the second one is a really good thriller. I haven't had the chance to see III or IV yet, but I've heard people say IV is amazing.
I like them and if they continue to make them then I will continue to see them. However if they would have just left it at saw 1 then I think that it would possibly be one of the most remembered films made within the past 10 years.
I saw sawand saw#2. What I saw shouldn't be seen by kiddies. I don't think I'll see saw #_whatever it's up to now. Now I see rotting corpes becuse of what I saw in saw. The End
Saw 1 is an amazing movie. One of the best, if not THE best thrillers ever. 2 and 3 are pretty good too, but aren't as good as 1. Haven't seen 4 yet so I can't tell you anything about it.
I would say the Saw films are good (only seen Saw), but if you don't in the first film there are some bits which people getting tortured aren't fun, but the main characters are. So it's a half & half. Try it first.
Well it's almost Halloween, one year after the last post. If anyone cares to read this, I have only seen the first two Saw movies (I am waiting for Saw III to come in the mail), and I can tell you this... the first Saw was a great psychological thriller. I had high expectations for the second, but it was a disappointment. You should watch the first, you will never expect the twist at the end.
It's rare that you find a well thought-out horror/thriller. Watch the first Saw this Halloween... you won't regret it.
Saw 1 is good. Not great, not the best horror movie of a generation or anything like that crap. Its okay. There is no subtltey to the horror at all and its pretty nasty, but something a bit different.
I like the 1st and 2nd one because the story was actually good, good story and gory. The 3rd and 4th one was just over the tops gore and the story lacks depth.
The first and second saw movies are good, but not that great.. They aren't good horror movies like friday the 13th or nightmare on elm street in my opinion.
They're just gore fests.I've only seen one,and it bored the hell out of me.Horror movies are dead...there's no such thing as "horror" anymore...just "gore-ror"...
