I dont think any of them have moving parts, and theoretically a reusable atomizer/system should be better than a disposable one (as they are much more expensive)... the disposable stuff used to be real crap.

maybe its all better... but if yur saying the disposable stuff, which is usually crap, is good.... im gonna have a few salt grains with that advice good sir :P

SauceKing

By moving parts I mean no parts that can get undone and come off(like the top to put a new cartridge in). It's all one nice tight, solid package and doesn't ever feel like it's going to come apart in your pocket like some of the rechargable ones do. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the disposable ones are better by any means, I'm just saying they're more convenient, easy to find in stores compared to reusables, and much cheaper to try. They're perfect for anyone who's new to e-cigarettes and curious about trying but don't want to invest in a full rechargable e-cig package.(or if you're a light smoker that only gets serious cravings in spurts once in a while, like at parties or the bar and want the nicotine right then and there but don't smoke regularly enough to invest in a full price e-cig)

And, at least with this FIN brand I've been smoking lately, I haven't had 1 problem with these e-cigarettes. The vapor comes out perfectly fine and I haven't had one "ooze" of liquid come out at all. And just because something is more expensive doesn't make it a lot better, e-cigs can't be expensive to make so the majority of the price tag is probably profit mark-up anyways. I don't notice a significant quality drop when going from any standard e-cig to a disposable. But don't get me wrong, I've only tried a few brands of disposables so my sample size is limited.

But this is just my opinion, why not try it yourself and form your own opinion? It's not like they're expensive... Do you have Circle K there? They sell multiple brands of disposables. It's worth a try. Anything's better than sucking on real smoke and seriously risking messing up your health...

well you clearly dont know the finer point of e-cigs... but maybe ill check it out again.

I still have a couple lbs of tobacco to get through first tho.

and mess up my health, please... dont get preachy. If im the first ever smoker to die of smoking related lung cancer in his 20s, ill print "messiah was right on my tombstone"

lol The finer point of all e-cigarettes is that they're relatively healthy to use while cigarettes are toxic in many ways. And don't give me that "I'm not going to die from lung cancer" bullsh*t, cigarettes decreased your health whether you get anything serious like lung cancer or not. Just saying. And there's a difference between "getting preachy" and just trying to encouraging people to ditch something that's proven over and over to be significantly bad for you by showing them a similar alternative that's NOT proven to be significantly bad for you.

Think about it, even if cigarette smoke didn't have over 4,000 chemicals in it, it would still be harmful to your health simply due to the fact that it's smoke and can stick to the inside of your lungs. So why not eliminate the 4,000 chemicals AND the smoke and switch to vapor? It just seems like there isn't much of a reason not to anymore. Maybe you may not notice smoke having any effect on your health now, but maybe you will some day. Why even risk it, bro? Is it really worth it?

I'm not trying to "shun" you for smoking. I completely understand what it's like to love lighting up a real smoke. It's just that e-cigs give me a better alternative. And I think a lot of people should at least give them a try. Over time you just "feel" better after not having smoke and toxic chemicles in your system multiple times a day, and you don't smell like crap. That's enough for me.

You must smoke ALOT.

I have never seen any yellow streaks or anything and i always smoke inside. Even when i used to smoke like a pack and a half a day back in college and my roommate smoked probably a pack a day.

I just make my own cigarettes now... costs about $2 a pack.

But ive never really been addicted.... if i ever felt like i needed a cigarette i would probably quit or at least severely cut back. Maybe you should try e-cigarettes, before i started making my own cigarettes and was looking for a lower cost alternative i tried them out.

SauceKing

I smoke a pack a day. Granted, it took a few years for my monitor to go from beige to nicotine yellow, but go it did (replaced that monitor years ago). Books and such turned a lot faster. However, in my bathroom, the problem is the type of paint I used in there: glossy. Nothing really soaks into the walls so it's quite easy for the moisture to leach up the nicotine as it runs down the wall.

Why don't you try e-cigs? replicate the feel of the nicotine and holding/smoking a real cig but without all the cancer.

Jolt_counter119

I did try, they didn't satisfy me at all. I'm one of those people who love the taste of tobacco smoke.

I understand where you're coming from because I used to say the same thing, but eventually it has to come down to what's more important to you: tobacco taste, or your health Do you even remember what it "feels" like to be completely smoke free?

I started with only like 2-3 cigs a day in Autumn 2010, to enhance the buzz of some other things. Lately, I've been smoking up to 2 packs a day. Yeah, I need to quit. My cigarette habit isn't nearly as bad as some of my other ones, though.

lol Don't give me that crap, people who smoke don't know sh*t about the health risks until they actually EXPERIENCE the health risks themselves. In fact, most people who smoke like to completely ignore the fact that there even ARE health risks, which is why they get so pissy when the health risks are brought up to them by someone. How are you going to tell me what "people who smoke" do as if I don't know what it's like to be a "person that smokes"?

lol Sure, most people "know" that smoking is detrimental to your health, but if someone smokes every day the effects on their health become normal to them to the point where they don't even think about it, hence the term "habit", which is why they need reminded once in a while. But then again you don't even smoke, so you can't even relate to begin with. And you can call it annoying if you want. But if I'm successful at triggering even 1 person to look at themselves in the mirror(figuratively) and remember how important their overall bodily functions are compared to burning and inhaling some stupid ass sticks of chemically modified tobacco, and that 1 person takes a step back and re-evaluates his/her smoking habit and if they even CONSIDER quitting to benefit themselves, I'll be satisfied. That's all I care about, helping people out. I couldn't care less what you think. At all.

I understand what you mean. Quitting can be tough, especially if you're as hardcore addicted as you. And it's so easy to fall into cravings(especially if you're bored like you said)... I never smoked 2 packs a day like you but when I first quit one of the hardest things to do was keep from getting bored during the periods of time that I usually tended to kill by just having a smoke. Just a few questions if you don't mind. Did you notice a difference in your overall health once you first quit smoking(after the withdrawls, anyways)? And do you feel like it would be a good idea to quit again? Also, have you ever considered a smoking cessation aid(like a prescription medication that really helps cut down on cravings)? I didn't take Wellbutrin for smoking cessation(I took it for ADD), but when I was on it I really noticed a difference in my smoking cravings... they were cut in half pretty much, then I eventually found out that it's also prescribed for smoking cessation. If your biggest problem is the cravings, then maybe something like that would be beneficial if you ever decide to quit again in the future.

Messiahbolical-

I do not notice a difference in my health. I'm 36 and from all appearances am healthier than even my non-smoking friends. I'm in shape, I don't have trouble breathing, I can run forever, I walk 20+ miles a week an hour at a time, and I almost never get ill.

Yes, I'd like to quit, but the first time was hell and I wasn't nearly as addicted then as I am now. I can't afford that disruption in my life ATM.

And as far as cessation aides, I tried the patch for a week and it didn't help. I'm dunno, I think I'm just as addicted to 'smoking' as I am the nicotine. I really enjoy the company of a cigarette.

As for sh1t like Wellbutrin: I too was diagnosed as ADHD as a youth. They put me on all kinds of meds and I eventually ended up institionationlized (CHIPS- Children's Hospital Inpatient Psychiatric Service) for behavior disorders...which were brought on by the meds. Once I turned 18 and took myself off the meds, my behavior returned to normal and I got on with life. I'm not touching that sh1t again.

Never smoked one in my life. I have asthma and I figured I was already smoking a lot of other things so no need to add cigarettes.

No, nor shall I ever become one. You couldn't even make me try one.

Why would I when I have cigars and pipes?

If you'd like to quit cigarettes, cigars have a much lower rate of lung-related issues, considering they are puffed instead of inhaled. Nicotine is still bad for your heart.

Yes, I was a smoker but I quit when I nursed my grandfather who had liver cancer because he smoked from highschool until the remainder of his life. It was not was not easy witnessing such pain from someone you love and care deeply for.

Good to hear you got off the meds, my situation was similar to yours(albeit not as extreme) and I did too. After my experiences with Wellbutrin I would never recommend it for treating an every day thing like ADD or depression, it's really not something that you want to put in your body on a regular basis. I'd only recommend it short term to help someone in a last ditch attempt to quit smoking, but stopping taking it ASAP since it's just as bad as the cigarettes themselves IMO. I'm glad to hear that you stay really active and try to keep as healthy as possible, despite the smoking. You seem like a smart guy who thinks about what you're doing and learns from his experiences. I believe that if you get to the point where you decide you really don't want to smoke anymore, you can do it. One thing that really helps(at least it helped ME alot) is to have a girlfriend or wife that's down to get dirty with you almost any time you want it as many times as you need to, and just have a buttload of sex with her, especially during times when you're really craving smokes. You smoke for pleasure, so if you're getting extra pleasure in a different area of your life to make up for the newfound lack of pleasure of from quitting smoking, it really helps. Well, at least it helped me. Maybe it'll help you too if you decide to quit. But then again it really takes a special kind of girlfriend as well. :P Gotta be really connected. God I love my girlfriend, I think we both really helped each other quit smoking in so many ways. It does help to have support!

Cigars smell and taste good too IMO. I can get behind this. Not a perfect solution, but definitely a step up from cigarettes. Even smoking something like American Spirits, or a similar brand of cigarettes that's uses pure additive-free tobacco, is definitely a step up from smoking your standard Camel/Marlboro/Newport/etc... not a HUGE step up, but still a step up.

Yeah, the reason I was able to quit just before getting married was the sex, and afterward she made me shower with her till the water ran cold because I really, really like a post-coitus smoke. However, the women I spend time with now (FWB) all smoke so...

I read an article a while back about people who live past 90, and it said that life-long smokers are just as well represented in that age group as any other age group, and it's more down to genetics than habits. I hope that's the case, but I'm not stupid enough to think smoking has no effect on me, even if I don't notice it.

It's something I plan to deal with eventually, but I really don't have the time to deal with it right now. I'll probably need to take a multi-month vacation and just travel continually for a bit to handle it. Thought about biking across the US one fall and then flying back once I hit the west coast, but again it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Everytime I buy a cigar, the tobacco falls out and weed gets in it somehow.

Yup, I smoke and if it spares me the slow decay or old age and withering away in a nursing home I'm fine with that.

I smoke American Spirit lights but I usually only smoke 1 or 2 a day and only smoke half then save the other half for later. Spirits last way longer than any other cig I've tried so I find myself buying only 2 packs a months. Honestly I can't wait until the day marijuana is legal so I can smoke that without the risk of being thrown in jail or cancer.
