Just beacuse you are a certain race , it does not mean that you have any more right to say anything about the race.

Interesting topic, here are my two cents.

I was born in America, while my parents were born in Jamaica. My girlfriend is Italian (born in America). My closest friends range in race and nationality, from Irish to Dominican to Asian to Black to......you name it. I'm in no way racist, and never saw a reason to be. I am however highly prejudice.

I'm prejudice against ignorant and stupid people. I find that I have a low tolerance for them. I don't mean someone that jokes around or tries to have a good time. I'm mean stupid people. You know who you are.

Not really, but I do recognize differences between races, but these are differences I would like to change.

For example, statistically, ethnicities are the most poor and violent people in the US. I don't hate them, but I recognize this fact and I would be glad to see this problem solved, so things like crime rates and what not are more even between races.

But that's not simply because they are of another race (I' not saying you think that). There are many socio-economic factors at play there.

Not in the least bit. The people saying "everyone is a at least a little bit racist" are crazy.

As pointed out a few posts back, there's a difference between prejudice (a part of human nature) and racism (by far one of the most ignorant forms of prejudice.) I have never been intolerant, felt hatred for, or assumed a person falls under a certain stereotype simply because of someone's ethnicity. Other factors, such as how someone dresses or speaks might influence my assumptions and feelings toward a person, but never someone's ethnic background :|

Every single person in the world has said or thought or done something racist in someone else's eyes the fact of the matter is that no matter what you do somebody will percieve you as a racist in this day and age there is nothing you can do. in my opinion it's how you percieve yourself if YOU don't think your a racist and the people you care bout don't think you are then that is all that matters.

I don't know if everyone's racist, but I'm tempted to say that most people are and are not aware of it.

I'm a white guy, I've been living in Taiwan for 4 years as an animator. (and OH MY GOD IT'S HARD TO GET GAMES HERE) I hooked up with a woman, Taiwanese, 3 years ago and we're married now.

Take it from me, I'm not Public Enemy Number One, but I'm close. I can't BELIEVE the reaction I get on internet forums. Interracial marriages are a big taboo as it is, but when the guy is white and the girl is asian, people think I'm some evil imperialist white dude coming and getting his mail order bride.

Racism is the general idea that one is superior over another due to their race. I've met plenty of people who are racist and I've always just assumed that they think like that because it makes them feel better about themselves. The thing that gets me though is that when they are with only white people they are as racist as they want to be, but they would never talk like that to a black person's face.lupinelope
