Soul gamer : one who doesn't care about high scores and only about having fun in games though he values winning.

Hardcore gamer : One who chalanges a game to its max and misses its fun , aiming to be a top leader.

Hardcore gamers don't miss the fun, they just take the game more seriously. It has nothing to do with how much fun you get out of it. Anyway, I'm a little more of a hardcore gamer, but if there's no ranks or anything I'll be a soul player. I guess I'm both, but I'm more hardcore.

Why does it matter? :? I dont understand this need to separate and label people who play video games.

I suppose by your definition, I'm a "soul gamer." I couldn't care less about things like achievements, or my gamerscore when I play my 360.

Inbetween. When I play online, or off I usually just play for fun, but I sometimes go for the high score. Like in GH2.

it matters what game it is and what mood i'm in.  I usually try to challenge myself but I won't like the game if I die continuesly.
