For the most part, yes, but I can listen to any genre, I just find metal suits my needs. Black Sabbath to Symphony X to Ensiferum to Nile...It's got varying levels of music. I also like rock 'n' roll, blues, and jazz.
No, i wouldn't say i'm addicted..i like some metal..but it has to be a certain type...and have certain things...otherwise i don't like it..
I've been a proud metalhead since the release of "Powerslave" when I was in high school. Most of my music collection (CDs and cassettes) is metal, spread across most subgenres (except death and black metal).
I can (and often do) listen to most anything else, though (except country and hip-hop).
All genres is pushing it.[QUOTE="Vfanek"][QUOTE="PerilousWolf"]
I love Metal. Just as much as I love Post-Rock, Classical, Jazz Fusion, Pyscadelic Rock and Electronica.
All genre's have great stuff in them...seek hard enough..and you will find.

I would have agreed with you a year ago...but age has mellowed me. As long as someone, somewhere enjoys a piece of music, then I feel no need to criticize them for listening to it. Even if it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. I have my own opinions about which bands and genres are in my mind, clearly "better" than others, but I won't force my opinion down peoples throats as fact.
Neither did I say I do. Well.. I do, but more in a jokingly manner. Though there are genres that really make me wonder, and that sounds like they're trying to be different and rebellious to 'music' more than actually creating something. Try listening to Abruptum - Massdod, I don't even know what to classify that as. But yes, in general it's subjective.I love it, but I'm really not a huge fan of newer stuff. I'm a huge fan of Fear Factory, fan of Killswitch, Lamb of God, but the newer stuff just not my cup of tea. There tends be a trend of bands just copying the hell out of each other. Metal Core used to be alright, but now its just a bunch of tight wearing jean semi screamos. Its kind of annoying.

Pretty much very similar to me as well. I will never forget that album even if my entire memory was erased. However, I do alsolove instrumental hip hop, breakbeat music, and hip hop from the generations were money wasn't important.
