Yes, but to avoid possible medical negligence, I have organ donation as a clause in my will, and not a red sticker in my wallet that virtually anyone can see.

This.
How does that work?

Yup, I've got everything for donation except my skin and bones, which weren't available on the tick boxes anyway. I'm pretty proud to have my donor card in my wallet.
My thinking behind organ donation is that if you were ever in a situation where you needed a transplant then you'd gladly except someone elses organs (unless it violates your faith) and so I think it's kind of hypocritical to not be a donor yourself.
In any case, my organs are of no use to me once I'm dead, although they may prove to be a good fertiliser for graveyard flower beds.
really?[QUOTE="Suzy_Q_Kazoo"]
Yes.

edit: when people say 'yes'... are they referring only til after death, or?
Yes, really. I'm referring to after death when I no longer need my organs :P However, I do currently donate blood and anticipate on donating bone marrow sometime in the future,I donated everything because I wont need it when I die, also, you should give your organs because there are so many people who need it! My gf's dad needed a kidney transplant and without that individual who donated, he would have been on dialysis throughout his life!
I am also going to donate my brain to harvards brain bank! lol
i would donate blood as well but they won't let me.

This.
As for organs, probably not. We should be trying to clone/build with the same DNA to reduce the amount of drugs needed to give to someone after the operation to force the new tissue into someone elses body; which doesn't always work anyway
[QUOTE="metalkitten"] my sis was pretty smart and said yes but not to smokers:P SkyWard20Can you really say 'no' to smokers? Lol... 'sure we have some organs available, but not for you'. yes, in my country u can fill in exact which parts ud like to donate after death (umight not be ok with all organs for example - or u might not wanna donate to science but to people only), and u can choose to not donate to any organ that smokers harm themselves, she felt it would be useless to donate an organ to a smoker when they knew the risks starting to smoke and felt it would be better if a none smoker would get the organ again i think everyone should check up their country and sites on how to make sure u put down so ur country will know if and what u wanna donate if u die in an accident for example - it could save lives if people who wanna be donors after death make sure people know and they have card on it
[QUOTE="metalkitten"]i wont get into my personal reasons for it here since its very longluamhtrad
I still want to know.
sorry... in short i guess i can say that i really dont want another persons organ or blood in me, so i dont want to give either - im not gonna go into it further - nothing religious...more mental i would say (and yes i find it pretty hypocrite for a person to say no to donate but agree to get an organ when they need...)
i do encourage all who wanna donate to actually make sure to get card of it and make sure all and hospitals know or its useless and u only say u would donate but if u die tomorrow u might not be a donor since they need to ask ur parents and takes time and blablabla - so wannabe donors - check it up right now!!! cause there are many in need
