So because I don't look like her, I'm not a real woman? Isn't she the one who wants the size zero to be banned? I look nothing near like a ten year old boy and my body is petite. Yes, I wear a size 0, but I'm also short (5'3", oh yayy *wants to be taller, but knows it won't happen* Unless I go the extreme means and break my bones and stretch them). If she's a real woman, then all women have to look like her, tall or short, which by that means, wouldn't work out because the weight wouldn't be distributed evenly. It's why everyone's body type is different. It's like saying a real man is someone who is overly muscular and scary looking.Plus size model Tara Lynn; Now theres a real woman. I know the post was an exaggeration.
Just agreeing with Ayanami about the terminology. I've found it annoying on more than one occasion.
Exactly. If you don't fit in a category of a "real" man or "real" woman, it makes you wonder, "What am I then?" A real woman is someone who is female, with imperfections and all. Not a cookie cutter "plus" size or "straight" size like the models. They are whatever they were born to be, whether it's to have small boobs and a small butt, big boobs and a small butt, small boobs and a big butt, or big boobs and a big butt. It's not one or the other. Same with a guy.
I really do hate the term 'real man' or 'real woman'.
For example, I've seen it used to describe both men that have facial hair and those who don't. =/Baconbits2004
May not be so, but in the modeling industry, they use "real woman" to describe plus size. It's not meant as a serious comment, just exaggerating for effect.

Yes...to be nice (used in place for other less...'polite'...terms).
Not something 'you' (any girl) should really get upset over IMO.
-they are trying to say 'big' in another way. this =/= a slight against skinny girls
Im not really bothered. As long as I can get awesome cuddles its not important :)
The girl im seeing atm is quite skinny but I keep telling her to go eat some McD's....I can even get her money off since I work there  I don't see why she wont take up the offer :P
They don't have to call her fat -- they shouldn't call her fat. She can just be another model. A model doesn't have to refer to someone who is extremely skinny, naturally or not (I rather there wasn't a not). And no, they do not mean it in a slight against skinny girls, but a lot of people, if not a lot of women (realize I'm not saying all because I know not all women do), DO use it against the skinny girls. You should see the comments that Ann Ward (winner of America's Next Top Model; and no, I don't watch it. I just happened to come across the comments one day) has gotten for her small frame.Yes...to be nice (used in place for other less...'polite'...terms).

I think if you use the term 'real' you're setting them above all others.
Telling someone who is playing modern warfare 2, to play a 'real' First person shooter, like Call of Duty would be setting call of duty above something like modern warfare; for example.

Alcohol can be a real game changer. That's probably my limit on how chubby a girl can be............maybe more if there is alcohol involved.

I'm not saying it is something bad about another. I'm just saying, it ends up making a girl who isn't the same as the model feel bad, just as someone who is bigger than the "straight models" feel bad and have lower self-esteem. It shouldn't happen, but it does. I just feel saying real women are just plus size makes me feel bad because I feel like I'm not a real woman.Terms get thrown around all the time

I can't be a plus size. It's impossible for me. Plus, I don't even think the modeling industry even knows what a plus size is since they're saying Crystal Renn (I think that's her last name?) is a plus size, but she's recently lost weight (not through extreme means, or so I've read) and is smaller than a plus size model is now. I think in order to say real women in the modeling industry, ALL sizes should be shown. Short, tall, small frame, big frame.
To give positive, just call her a model. Don't put a special term in front of it. Just say, "This is a model."
Then again, maybe it's all a shock value thing. Maybe the modeling industry makes the girls extremely thin because they know it'll turn heads and give that shock, like, "Oh my god!" Whether that "oh my god" is negative or positive.
And realize, I'm just giving my opinion. :P I don't mean to make it sound like a rant.
Yes. Watch Combien tu m'aimes; she's at her seductive, sexy best in that film (don't really watch it, just youtube the best parts because that film blows). I went through a period watching only her films just to see more of her (it helped that the internet showed me nude screencaps). Irreversible was a good, but not something I could actually derive any sensual pleasure from, well maybe...[QUOTE="Brutal_Elitegs"]

Hyperbole for effect.
You do need to understand that despite being hyperbolic im right. And so are you. These are entirely matters of preference and vary as widly as people's likes and dislikes of a game, regardless of whatever the typical concensus is for that game. And what better place to show this than how this very website operates?
Im sure you're a pretty girl. That doesn't mean you're everyone's type and preference. Some people never date beyond their own ethnicity no matter how pretty some girls are. That doesn't mean you're any worse simply because you arent hispanic, black, asian, etc. and they dont want to date you.
Yes, some women do consider men that are overly muscular and scary looking as "real men." And i could argue with them about the poor merit of that argument. But rarely, is such a statement ever said and meant to be taken literal. I think the context was implied. Anyone that really, truly believe so is probably too ignorant to be worth talking to in the first place - and by all means think of me that way, if you want. It matters little to me.
