I wouldn't know, I've never done "real" public speaking before, at most I'll be facing a classroom.

Yes very much. I have a hard time starting up a conversation. I can talk to a group of people but someone has to start the conversation.

I used to not do very well with it, but I realized my problem was that I was trying to hard to remember what I was supposed to say! This year I started just immersing myself in the info and improvising during the speech. It worked perfectly and all my anxiety went away.

I guess I'm above average. I'd rather not do it though. :P

I used to hate public speaking, but the more I do it, the easier it gets. I have done public speaking most of all at Church, but I also have done public speaking at a tech school. It really isn't so bad anymore and I even learned to like it.

I love doing it. I'm an attention-seeker. :P But it is a lot of fun, once you can do it properly and get over the nerves.

I'm nervous about the waiting part. It seriously looks like I'm having an anxiety attack, but I get over it when I start speaking. And to help me even more, I just throw a little joke in there before I start my speech by saying"If this is a train wreck, it's because I'm nervous, so brace yourselves." And then it's pretty much smooth sailing after that.

I'm not bad at it, because I prepare pretty well every time I do it. But I can't say I'm thrilled when I have to give a speech. I hate it when people start asking questions though, because sometimes you can get in a pretty nervous situation. Especially when the same doofus keeps asking annoying stuff. It's like "Dude I'm not gonna answer your questions around human existence, so get over it and stop ruining my day"

It really depends on the audience. In high school I had no problem, because I usually made jokes during the presentations to ease the feeling. In college I had to take a speech class. That it was different I'll say that but most of the people were like "party friday night" type people so no one really cared how you presented your speech except the professor.

Every speech or English class I've taken has stressed that you don't want to say something like that to start your speech, because it makes you seem unprofessional. I guess if you're just talking to peers it would be alright, but not at a formal event.

I'm pretty decent at doing public speaking. My job requires me to speak in front of audiences a pretty fair amount, so I'm accustomed to it by now.

Personally I hate public speaking. I get all nervous and often forget what I'm supposed to say. It's not that I'm afraid of my peers but more that my professor is grading everything that I say. Does anyone else hate presenting as much as I do?CuddlesTheBunny
I'm more Introvert than Extrovert so yeah pretty much

No, I should think not. Public speaking is, for lack of a better expression, is a cornerstone of my profession. I wouldn't be able to do my job if I couldn't step in front of scores, and possibly hundreds, and speak with confidence and clarity.
