I think it's because of my race. I'm African American, and I'm treated wrongfully sometimes. :(

The thing is, black people hate me. White people are the only ones to talk to me now. Maybe it's the Atlanta love I get down here. It's more calm and less tension than in Alabama. :?
Alabama isn't as racist as everyone says it is. My grandparents live there, and there are plenty of both African Americans and other random races that get along fine.
Nope because I'm Australian. But I don't think anyone should be embarassed about being from anywhere. You don't decide where you are born. Even if you did, it is the actions of the country's people or government not being from the country that you should be ashamed of.

Hm, I lived there. It depends on the area though. From central Alabama down it's high tension.

No rarely, and only once in my 35 years have I been. While I may not always agree with my government and their actions, I still have the right to march anywhere in public and voice those disagreements. If I am embarrassed about anything in the US it's the utter lack of/death of the fourth estate.
i am a bit because of how the dropout rate is increasing and we are almost or we are the stupidest educated country in the world. Also I dont agree w/ government but most people aren't. :P
I'm embarrassed to be human sometimes but not American. Other countries have the same probs we do, it's just not made aware to the rest of the world like America is. We got problems and aren't afraid to put them out there.
Embarrassed to be an American? Never. You don't have to look deep to find skeletons in the closet of any country in the world. It's just when those skeletons got in the closet the varies.

I am very proud to be from here. This place has alot of rich history, like everywhere else. The government does not make up the people and their are very good people in this country, people i would willingly die for.

I wouldn't say that statement but what it does have is alot of cool people.
